steve the cat....

steve the cat is still a very enigmatic reclusive feline.  two days and still no meeting......i've been talking to him when i come over to the neighbors to feed him......the food got eaten, that's a good sign........the neighbors arrived safely in Iowa and will then head on to Wisconsin in a few days.

my son is home safe and sound from Hawaii......i wish i knew how to post the video of him rappelling down the rocks amidst a waterfall.......at the very end he swings out & lands in the water with a wonderful splash!  whoooowheeee!  he said the bruises were worth it.......we just got back from seeing Wonder Woman.  it was good fun......before the movie we grabbed a quick burger at Burger 21.  their food is delicious......

sam is heading out on another adventure later this week......off to Ohio to visit his college chum Erica.  it's an 8-9 hour drive.......i wish he would fly, but that's not my call.......i just worry about him getting overly tired.  he brought me some happies from Hawaii.......a water bottle from his hotel, it shows all the islands.......some very pretty coral, some sand and a frig magnet that's in 3D......water, beach, sunset.....very cool!  he said he also got me a rock, my favorite thing, but it's still mixed up in his suitcase somewhere......i love getting nature presents from beautiful places.....my favorite kind of souveneir!

time to wrap up the day and go to bed.........the rain continues in Atlanta......soon we will be Lake Atlanta, then Ocean Atlanta.......the rain never seems to end.  steve the cat has a water fountain that provides non stop fresh water.  pretty nice......i'd heard of them, but never seen one in action.....  i wonder what ol steve looks like? maybe he's an invisible kitty?  or maybe he wears the cape of invisibility like in Harry Potter?  or maybe he has an invisible force field around him to act as his protector?  hmmmm........

last night i dreamed that Robin Williams and I were maybe kinda sorta about to date.  no clue where that dream came from......i always admired Robin's laser sharp comedic abiities.......as well as his serious roles like in Good Will Hunting for example.......and it's sad that he is gone.  but i never thought of him as someone to date........in the dream he was trying to convince me to go out with him.  he had a big stack of pictures and cards.......he showed me what he would look like for our first date......then he showed me the card he would send......this went on for some time through our 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on dates.......with the greeting cards too. he was so sincere.......so genuine.  and then i woke up.......

the last week while not without challenges was a pretty good week.  still having daily gland pain on both sides of my neck, foot & hip pain daily.......stiffness in my spine and well stuff, but the supreme exhaustion of the last several months has lessened enough that i've been out of the house quite a few times of late.

i have a new project.......i like projects.  i'm going to sell my current kitchen table via Nextdoor......the tabletop space it provides is very nice, but it's too big for my small cottage sized rooms......it takes over the space.  sort of like a bear in a teacup.......it's too much!  my two chairs should be ready this week.  they were black with cream cushions, now they will be white w/red upholstery.  the fabric is very vintage looking.  then the 100 year old english pub table will be painted the same white as the chairs.

this new table is 36" square......which is a great every day size for this space.  the table has two leaves that lie underneath the main square.  you pull gently but firmly on the leaf -- it slides out then pops up to make it even with the tabletop.  i had never seen one of these before......it will be great for when the kids come over to eat.  right now i would have to use two outdoor chairs to seat four.....it's a work in progress.

once i sell this table and a couple of other pieces i'll be in great shape.  their is one more project.....an old secretary that was sitting at the back of a dirt cheap thrift store out in Athens GA.  i'm going to polish it up with Old English......then down the road, when the new table is set up, the secretary will be put next to the wall......i'll put the monitor on the top, get Sam or someone to drill a hole discreetly in the back of the secretary ......or sam suggested that i get a bluetooth keyboard......not sure what that is, but i'm assuming that means cordless?  wireless.....whatever.  we'll see.

being at home so much seems to inspire me to fix this little place up.......when help permits, the secretary was priced at $65.  i've wanted one of these pretty little desks with the fold down writing space since i was a little girl.  my mom used to have one......hers was much grander.  it had a side section with beveled glass & several shelves to hold decorative pieces.  it was very elegant.......my dad gave it to uncle jack.  uncle jack put it in his shop to keep nails, bolts and such in......these men did NOT appreciate antiques.  to them it represented the depression, poverty.........they liked new, modern.....clean lines.  not antiques!  my mom loved antiques and i like them mixed in with current day comfortable furnishings.......an eclectic mix.  but i don't have a lot of money, so i have to keep an eye out and hope for the best by going to yard sales and thrift stores.  still can't believe i found this little secretary, it has the original keys......little cubbies......two small & one large drawer at the bottom.

if i EVER learn how to take pictures with my camera phone and then if i ever learn how to post pictures here or via email i will share pics.  i need a cell phone teacher to sit next to me every day for a week......followed by a basic skills test at the end.  maybe then i could get it to stick in this slippery tired mind.

good night!  HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGS!

You know, I actually have thought of Robin Williams that way. He had this funny/goofy/sexy thing going on. I miss him a lot. I was really devastated by his death. I only wish he had looked for support.

We watched Diary of a Mad Black Woman last night. I had never seen it. It was actually really good. I mean, there was a little bit of swearing, but the message of forgiveness and grace was so refreshing.

Love you.
