Start ofthe ride
So as stated in my last entry I saw a new Pyschatrist. He seems understanding and genuine.
He suggested I read a book. So I eagerly go and check the book out at the library. Figure well I might as well give it a shot. Its called Feeling Good by David Burns. Its funny because when he suggested it adn said the name it seemed familiar but I wasnt sure why.
Well a couple months ago I was in a cbt group. And they had mentioned this author. Cbt was helpful in the first group as I took two. One for Anxiety and on for depression. The anxiety group got me to expose myself to a lot of fears. Which was beneficial. The depresiion group seemed to be just a repeat of the anxiety minus the exposures, At the end I felt just as lost as I had gone in.
Anyways, back to today. I get the book and skim through it a bit. Well turns out this author is all about CBT. So now I am thinking I had a hard enough time with this before. Now its being suggested to me again.
I feel dumb because the concepts are just really hard for me to understand. I google cbt and i know that the error I made was after the group I didnt try to keep practising what I had learned. So hopefully by reading this book I can try it again.
Anyhoo, heres hoping its better round 2 or 2.5
