Spring is coming
Now that Valentine's Day is behind, I look forward to spring. It is the 2nd V. Day that I haven't celebrated with a man. Last year was kind of sad for me. This year, I was busy doing all sorts of things and enjoyed my alone time without feeling sorry for myself. That's progress I suppose. It certainly felt better than spending Valentines Day with someone who was abusive. Is still abusive. And I don't have to deal with that any more because I choose to respect myself instead of allowing him to crush my spirit. I felt quite relieved and content to have my own space Sunday and enjoy the day my way. I went skate skiing in the beautiful sunshine and made a fun dinner for my teenage son and myself. I felt peaceful. Then I read. What luxury really.
Since I have no partner and do not see that changing anytime soon, I have decided to pursue my personal goals of writing. I am taking a class that finishes up March 18. Then a few days with both of my kids for spring break. After that, I'm getting organized to finally fulfill my dream of writing. There are several options but first I will get my office organized, organized all the literature review and books read, and then begin. That first page written will remind me of my freedom and the ability to create any life I want. I have big goals and the time and self-respect now to follow through. It will be tough, I'm sure. Yet I can balance out the writing and my work with more fitness and fun. I love to mountain bike ride so with spring coming, I should be out on the trails soon. And I love to hang at the lakes. So long as I focus on being true to me, I stay happy. Giving up me is not an option. I'm excited for my goals to ignite into a passionate lifestyle.
