Spring Crash

exhausted all of the time.  A bit discombobulated, disconnected..... Lost my balance a few days ago and fell while putting cookware away ...... Landed on my knee, big bruise, little limp, still very sore.  Also bruised my heel on the same leg when I was trying to keep Jackson from falling off of the deck.  New puppies are fun, but they do take a lot of energy.

it's okay.  Crashes happen. Just one of those cycles. I'll get better.  Uhg.  I need to dig up a bunch of irises and move them.  They have completely taken over the flower bed behind the house!  I started to dig up irises yesterday, and I very quickly realized that if I kept digging, I would not be able to cook supper.  Sleep patterns all messed up, forgetting words in mid sentence - normal for us, right???

Still trying to go for walks.  Walked a mile after supper last night.  Jackson walked most of the way, too - with his little short puppy legs.  He's going to be a tough guy!

Allie is convinced that Jackson is HER puppy!  She is very good with him though.  Very laid back and patient with him.   Amazing how the two play together ........ 70 pound 17 month old Allie with 11 pound 8 week old Jackson ....... Siamese twins!  Ha!  Lizzie plays with Jack when Allie isn't hogging his attention.

We had a distemper scare with Jackson. (Losing words in mid sentence?  Yeah, I kept calling it dementia!). Jackson suddenly developed a horrendous, almost constant cough last Tue. night.  We took him to the vet and found out that the shelter where we adopted him had been shut down due to a distemper outbreak.  Many animals either died, or had to be put down.

Jackson is doing well. He did test positive for distemper, but we caught it and treated it early.  The only symptom he ever had was the cough, and it's gone, now.  He is a normal, rambunctious puppy - testing the limits, insisting on taking his naps on the love seat, and going bonkers over the aroma of aroma pork tenderloin when I take the lid off of the crockpot!   He is a good distraction, good medicine for all of us Tim, and me and the other 3 dogs ...... the joys of life beginning anew, full of energy and curiosity (Oh, let's not forget.... full of puppy pee and puppy poop.  We just have to work on the bad to get the good out of life.)

No wonder you are exhausted. It sounds like a lot of activity. I know what you mean. I'm so tired too and sometimes fall over. It stinks. I hate that. Try to rest. Much love.

Jackson and Allie sound wonderful and animals are Good medicine.
Sorry about your crashing and falling.I don't crash but I fall.
Your digging up iris's and realizing you got to stop, and conserve energy for cooking, thats me too. I have a push mower and our lawn and my neighbors yard needs to mowed. So I am mowing a part at a time so that i can cook.
Glad Jackson is okay. Awful to hear about what happened. Life isn't easy for animals are they (at times). You all take care. ♥ and greenies

Pilot, I'm sorry to hear you fell - grateful you didn't break any bones. Sounds like you are due for a rest period! The new puppy sounds so cute, and I'm glad Allie takes good care of him. So glad you moved quickly on his cough and saved him from worse problems.
