Special Thanksgiving Wishes!

Happy Thanksgiving Blessings and Wishes to You!
I am trying to prepare for tomorrow.  Instead of the dishes I had planned on making I am making crumb cake and peach crisp instead.  Prep time is about 7 minutes per recipe, which cuts way back on expended energy.  The oven has the biggest job.......lol.  The cake is already done, so the whole kitchen smells incredible.
The small animals are playing hard.  They are happy and healthy and wild.  Watch out, fast cats racing zone.......  At some point they will crash as close to me as they can wriggle and we'll all sleep.
Sara has to work tomorrow until 5.  After that she will head to her in-laws for the holiday feast.  Sam & I have been invited.
Sam is calling me in the morning to see how I am doing.  We'll see.......I can feel how much he wants me to go. This meal will be at the new home of my former husband, Sam & Sara's Dad and his step-Mom.  They plan to break bread around noon....or 1.  It's an hour plus each way.
Family is redefined as we all know.........chuckling...... we are all friends because of our love of family.  Especially our children.
So I am pushing.  I have laid out my clothes.  Already showered and dried my hair.  Baked two dishes, one for each event.  My kids do not understand the need to attend with food in hand.  I am old school.......we never went to an event without taking something to add to the feast.  And people coming to see us did the same.  Is this changing?  Am I hopelessly old fashioned?
Not sure, etiquette and consideration are hard to quit............so confused today.  Pain wore me out.  Sleep helped........Bruce came by and did his thing.  Mowed, mulched, weed-eated, leaf blower action.......it looks good!  Took my trash down to the curb for me.  That was so kind of him!
Please pray for Bruce's elderly neighbor, the man fell trying to exit the bathtub. It really shook him up, he was unable to get out and lay there alone for hours.......thankfully somebody checked on him on the same day that he fell.  Praise God for this.......that family and neighbors are all trying to take care of him and help him with the next steps.  If you can add Max to your prayers......xo
My job is to go to bed and sleep until 9 am.  Then we'll see.  Every day this week I have not been able to walk successfully until around 1 pm.  The mornings have been marked with severe pain in my lower back......muscle spasms higher in my back and confusing muscle spasms in my tummy. The ones in my tummy are kicking me across three states.
Sam says he'll park me in a comfy chair, bring me a plate and assures me it will be fun.  Nice people, good food and lovely weather.  There you go.........Sara says if I can't do both or either one she will understand.  She says I know you have such a hard time getting into the in-laws house cause they have a lot of stinking stairs and a very steep driveway.  Everytime I make it into that house I know God is creating a miracle.  Plant a flag and holler EUREKA!
I hope you have a blessed and wonderfully content holiday.

I read your next journal first...so I know you made it, and it exhausted you! Yummy food you made DESSERT! Can\'t go wrong there!! We always bring something to eating holiday events as well. I don\'t think it\'s old fashioned. I think it\'s just polite. Most people bring a bottle of wine to people\'s homes. Whelp, we don\'t drink here, so we get yummy foods, like what you made. I like that so much better. Bobby\'s daughter actually tells us that we\'re in charge of dessert, so if we don\'t get none, tis cuz nobody brung it. Believe me, tons of dessert dishes show up!! LOL

Sounds like me....setting clothes out early, psyching myself up to be able to sleep. All these things work against us, we know that....but we hope.

Loooks like our prayers were answered this year, and we were able to attend the festivities yesterday. I only had to lay down once, and it\'s an hour and a half drive. GOOD FOR ME! They let me sit a lot! GOOD FOR THEM!

Glad you had a good day, Sparrow, you deserve it!!
