speaking your truth

perhaps it's about speaking my truth or 'your truth' that is coming to me.

my truth may not be the truth of others but it still has a place amongst the greath pantheon

of humanity - and so perhaps take refuge and inspiration in that.

At work today I found people to be very spikey...sharp edges..but I still managed the attitude to consider their

feelings - it seems like we're kind of like that.

I feel like life is offering me a double edged sword.
To point out to me a direction to live a virtuous life - as a monk or a priest -
and yet I can be virtuous in my own right on my own outside of the monastery.
I have met virtuous people who did other things rather than make their profession of it.
And I have met virtuous religious people with just as many faults as the regular joe,
I think I am seeing there's variety in life - no matter what we endeavour - though the title may
bespeak one thing - there may be - and are - the textured and varied elements of
humanity within us. There are those who walk the talk and that's great. It would be nice
to finally figure out my direction.

I have had committed religious people who have lived cloistered monastery lives tell me there is far more virtue in being able to live a virtuous life outside the monastery. Monasteries are designed to reduce temptation. The outside world is not. They also invited me to contemplate the diff between "virtue" and "perfection." Only God is perfect.

Do we find our direction or does our direction find us? I believe it is more important to *just* pay attention so we see the direction when it is given.

quite honestly arfie, when I am not working, I cocoon in my house eating comfort foods and watching shows... but more often than not - I rattle in my cage with questions about my life - and anxiety builds up - and then I miss the day as it goes by. Then it's time for bed. and then work - and then the time off where I think and wonder about things - but I get so indecisive and anxious.

I definitely go into my own world at times when I am on my own - but then I go blind to the pragmatics in a lot of ways. I mean I have a job and I guess because I am 'viable' I don't think much beyond that - I just get really anxious when I am on my own - and then I seek out graces to make me feel ok about my life. I guess that's ok to a certain extent - but I have also been dismantling and parsing things about my life because of my experience with illness. It has ultimately made me hyper aware that I need to be self responsible - So I guess I know now how things work for me - when I am on my own I can wrangle with my inner forces (both at work and at home.) What's next? I feel stress...maybe just keep focusing on seeking opportunity and making opportunity happen - and maybe not 'poo poo' ing it.
