Son is there for them

My son's GF lost her aunt.  ES hasn't had an correspondence on FB or any where since this mess all began.  I got a post today thru him from his GF's sister thanking him for being such a wonderful, caring member of their family especially at this time.  I know our ES is a loving person but this just makes me so angry.  He is our son not theirs but I can't do anything about that.   He is our only living relative - he and the grandkids.   So what happens when one of us passes, the other one is totally alone?  Why can't he wake up and realize how much we love him and how much we have been there for him and done for him.  No, he doesn't owe us anything but we don't deserve estrangement either.

Your story sounds so familiar. Our DIL\'s step mom used to write on FB about how much she loved our son, how wonderful he was, etc. - but things change. They are now also estranged from DIL\'s father and step mom. I remember when my ES posted on FB that DIL\'s step mom was \"his\" mom and her half brother was \"his\" brother. Not sure what happened but now ES and DIL want no parents in their lives.

Hold tight to the memories of your son and ask God to guide you and your ES toward a path of union again.

Thanks so much for your care, support and insight. It\'s amazing how many things most of us share. I am so glad we have one another. It sure makes the load a little lighter. I just want to shake our ES and pour some sense into his head. Why can\'t they see that love is to be shared and grown? No, because for them it is all about self love and feeling good at the moment. One day hopefully they will learn some facts and gain some insight.
