sometimes I throw myself under the bus.
I posted this to Facebook and then it felt pretentious.
I think it's a great quote but for some reason I just felt I had to delete it even though one person had liked it already.. I did this when I was a painter too (with my work.) I need to hold tight and try and feel good about my decisions - they don't have to be perfect..even if the quote is a little pretentious..?.. other folks posts...are they perfect? and what is that!? :)

The psych term which popped into my head for "Throwing myself under the bus" is "Self-sabotage." In my personal psych profile, it pops up when my damaged self-esteem grows convinced that somebody is going to pull the proverbial rug out from under any success I could possibly have, so I beat them to the punch and "Throw myself under the bus." It is easier to do it on my own schedule rather than live with the anxiety of wondering how, when, where and who will deliver the "inevitable."
I don't care to do the research, but I do believe it is way more common than you might think.
