something to look forward to
I have to admit. This morning, I woke up and there seems not much point to it all.
But I know that the people around me inspire me to make a go of it.
I'll take a shower and dress - and then I'll find something of excellence to
apply myself to.

I’ll help one more person to survive.
I'll help myself survive too.
I kind of wondered why I was feeling no point to my life. Then after contact with others my mood just shifted upwards! And to an extreme as well!
I tried to work it out. My sister has said to me to accept things that just ‘are.’ I know others may question reality like this too. I’m grateful. I know also that I have the luxury of time and space to be questioning like this. That’s something to be aware of too. So, I’ll get back to surviving and taking care of my responsibilities. I am VERY lucky!
it's wild how we put our trust in therapists, when they, in fact, may be leading you down a road of their
individual vision. I believe in my therapist - but I also ought to put into the mix of my consideration
that she is 'just human' like the rest of us and that we all need to manage in the face of all variables.
I sometimes lose sight of the moving parts of life - the elements that cause the dynamics, but
considering all of it - makes me enthusiastic to just embrace it - and take it on like a kind of sport.
sometimes it's like i deconstruct things to find a pattern that will make life predictable - predictable
enough so that I'll transition to just making a start in any direction. Ok, I gotta get going.
knowing that I am different, or perhaps knowing that I am like any of us... unique and different,
maybe I should look at how I pick things apart - how I answer questions to my life....maybe
I am in the right profession for now - either with the priesthood or maybe even social work?
I know we each have our own way of answering questions - and seeing things - like my therapist - I am
flawed and have my own vision - but maybe I can teach that answer to those I help? those I serve?
that we are all finding ways to solve our answers and are in that effort universally and with commonality.
Perhaps sharing some of my ways or our ways with others can then inspire that light bulb of health
and inspiration! to know their ways and to manage!
I got a little too excited there. Need to focus on ‘just what do I need to get done today’? Keep my energies in a medium position.
In the 18th century there was a common philosophy of keeping one’s behavior in a kind of compass, not one way too far or the other. It’s kind of like that for me. And I know I’m not alone in that. In fact I know my therapist has talked about her having to do that for herself.
whoa, tiger. daring to admit you have feelings of your own is getting too excited? geez. . . makes me wonder if you are the world's most boring human. just wondering in a not-mine-to-sort sort of way.

why does every moment in life need a big, important point? we be human beings, not human doings. just be.
I didn’t have morning service to do this morning. I requested to rest which was good. I’m feeling pretty miserable right now. I am in the cafeteria having morning meal. When I have morning service to focus on, along with the structured time, I feel more contented. The work itself doesn’t feel so real and it feels so like my head is buried under water. But I suppose in a way it is real work.. I suppose whatever I chose to do, I’ll feel a little marginalized because it is a commitment to an aspect of life.
Thanks Arfie!!
I'm sorry that you're feeling miserable, Mark. I hope things get better as the day progresses. As arfie said, sometimes it's OK to just be.
You've often spoken about feeling different and searching for commonality. We are all different, and that's perhaps one of the most profound commonalities of the human experience. We all know what it is like to feel different. To feel out of place. To wonder if anyone really sees us or "gets" us. Uniqueness is not a flaw - it's a part of the beauty of creation. Unity is not in sameness. Your difference, my difference, and everyone's difference is part of what connects us. When you start feeling isolated by your differences, try to remember that you are not alone. Even though rituals, traditions, and doctrines can create a sense of sameness, the differences remain.
God's work is real work, and arguably the most important work that exists. Not only when you conduct services, but anytime you listen to, counsel, or comfort others. It will not always be joyful work or perfect work - in fact, it may be the exact opposite some days. But it's holy work - flowing from love, toward love, sustained by the love of God. Whether you ultimately decide to stay there or move on to something else, there is great purpose in what you're doing right now. Hugs.
thanks Judy! So beautifully said. I really appreciate it!
