Some people are NOT nice...
I can't stand my co-workers. I work part time, 3 days a week, and one of them, the office trouble-maker, doesn't like me. She is jealous because I'm younger than her and I work hard, and she doesn't. Everyone in the office llstens to her. So if she doesn't like you (for whatever stupid reason) you are screwed. That is me. She collects money (and I have contributed) for office birthday parties. Then she throws the person a really good party in the office, even invites outsiders. My birthday came and went. I said something to her that it wasn't right that I contribute and she doesn't include me. Today I come back from lunch and there's an envelope on my desk with money in it. Apparently, she collected money from everyone ONLY because I said something to her. No birthday party for me though, she makes me feel like crap. She's been working there over 20 years and so everyone does what she says. People are not nice to me there because of her, she's always gossiping about me. She apparently has no life, but it's really frustrating for me. Funny thing is, I LIKE my job---it's just HER that is creating problems for me there. Wish I could knock her out. M

That\'s terrible, who is your boss, perhaps you can talk to them about her. What about looking for another job. I couldn\'t imagine working in such a negative environment. The stress will kill you.........
If you like your job, I would try to just put her out of your mind and focus on your job. It is possible to work at a place and not get involved in office politics. Just keep to yourself if possible, and minimize your dealings with her.
Also, you could try to talk to her about how it hurt your feelings that you didn\'t have a birthday party when everyone else did. I wonder if it had something to do with you being part-time, or are you new to the job? There could be a reason for why that happened that you just don\'t know.
You could also try taking the birthdya money that you were given and doing something nice for everyone in the office - maybe buy flowers or a plant or a cake or something.
Hi Maria, i am so sorry you have to work in those condition\'s. Sounds like you work in a place were thing\'s are superficial, she prob is jealous, you seem to be a very likable person and you deserve to be treated accordingly. I used to kill my old boss, ya know the devil i call her, with kindness. She would look for a fight and i would be SO NICE, it made me gag and she wasn\'t ready for it and it really got to her, drama queen she is. I also crack alot of jokes, not really but off the cuff stuff, cause i have had this prob before. Waitresses and bartender\'s can be brutal to each other, tip\'s and all. Then i went to work for the devil at the hot dog stand outside the hardware store, 10 yrs outside, i worked alone, so that was nice, Now i can\'t work at all. The day she fired me was one of the best day\'s of my life though i do so miss that hot dog money, it was great, great tip\'s, ya know ive found that you meet friend\'s when not even looking for them. My doc told me that most people are wondering what you think of them, while we are wondering what they think of you. For you\'re consideration. YOU DESERVE TO BE HAPPY. I t makes me sad that you feel so alone. P.S. i count my friends on here as my friend\'s. That\'s just me. Glad to see you journaling, it really helps me.

I was working as a cashier, i was new. Then after a couple of weeks I had to work with this little shit that was working there for longer than me. He kept asking if was going to college (I was about 4 years older than him), I said no. At the timeI had been also working at a factory during the day to. It was hard working 2 jobs. He had the nerve to say I should be going to college, an I would never accomplish anything in my life. My bose at the time was a girl. I went to high school with. When ever we would have a rush of costumers, he would come behind me an put me down. I decided not to come in for a couple of shifts. My manager, the girl I went to school with called me to see why I hant TV come in. I told her what was going on. She fired him. Maybe you could go to someone higher than her, her bose an tell how rude she is being, how you like your job, and you well you are doing an capable of and you would like a possibility of having het position considering how well you know the company. If that dosnt work, then .I would look for a BETTER treatment somewhere else . You are worth it.
Thanks, I actually was going to go to my boss, but decided to confront her first. Let\'s see how she treats me after last week\'s confrontation. If that doesn\'t work, then at least I spoke to her and THEN I WILL GO TO THE BOSS!!! And this is only a part-time job!!! Yes maybe he will fire her, she deserves it.
It only takes one bad apple in the bunch and it can ruin everything for you. I have had jobs like that. I had one job and I liked it but the bitch who ran the place she thought. Did,nt like me and I did,nt like her I dreaded going to work everyday. Just looking at her ugly face. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
