So the cavalry isn’t coming

A great analogy my therapist gave me yesterday was "so, the cavalry isn't coming." It's just a good reminder that we're responsible for our lives and though we've got community we've also got to take care of ourselves. That thought is sobering and also strengthening. I can do it!!

Have a good day you guys!! Keep on keeping on!!

my own realization after the radical acceptance that the calvary isn't coming was that i hadn't needed the calvary, after all. these days i believe that the calvary's arrival would only have complicated my life with all their authoritarian, militaristic yaddah blahs. that is, after all, what military units, such as calvary do, is it not? metaphorical or literal, soldiers are a royal pain in the withers.

with that, i pay yet another tribute to john lennon. all you need is love.
leave the militaristic thinking in the history books. may those tactics never enter the herstory books.

The calvary in my life is the relationship I have with God. I hope I'm not mentioning Him too much, it's just that He is an important part of my life. Have a great day Mark!
