So, my father has passed on...
He went to the emergency ward with a fever which is normal at his age to do and then took a turn for the worse mid yesterday and died that evening. Complications due to infection and then his heart stopped.
Now there is the funeral and then the estate to deal with and I'll see what happens to the family and my life after that. I should be alright but I am not sure how my brother will handle it all or how he will treat me and my sister once he has his inheritance or for that matter after he blows thru it.
Maybe he won't be a total loser and will handle things well and be able to maintain a comfortable life but he is going to have to be more self responsible and learn to save money to pay his own taxes, insurance and the other costs of life beyond his own pleasures.
I'm feeling alright with the loss and have no regrets. Other than a few times under immense stress over the last six months I have always been fair and respectful with my father and I was able to have soem quality time and tell him I loved him before he lsot most of his mind to Alzheimers.
My only worries are what may be my new financial status now that I more than likely have enough to live on and not worry. Will it change the way the government looks at me and force me to move? I'm not sure it will but I don't know. I will still be legally poor according to the statistics even if I will own a couple houses. my income is stil going to be under what they consider poor in America. I'll have to find out. I don't like major changes like moving so I will try my best to remain where I am even if I have to pay more for rent.
Should all work out I may not be under as much stress as before but how often do things go as they should?

There is a lot going on and you are under stress of handling everything as well as the stress of your fathers passing and the loss and uncertainty. Hang in there and keep going step by step and I admire your ability to handle all this. I think I would be a mess, but then again we dont know how we will handle things until they happen
