so many questions......
it's me, your funny ol poky pal.......i'm in hiding at sparrow cottage.
i have a big deep pocket full of complaints but luckily i'm too tired to tell that tale. i know our lives have problems.....we need prayer, rest......help and friendship. we really do.
mostly my questions are to hear more about what is going on with y'all........love to hear an update!!!!!
aiming for comfort i donned some dark green skinny jeans, a mustard colored tunic with pintucking on the bodice......wrapped a long dark green scarf around my neck and put on street shoes.....some tan colored sperry flats. not that anybody cares about this, it's just interesting to me after a long week of flannel nighties. it gets to the point that i forget what it feels like to wear real clothes. it's ok, weird, makes me feel that maybe i'm feeling a little better......but my body temp is still 96 degrees. achy and ucky in general, majoring in naps and the telly.
i don't think that mustard is my color......but it reps fall pretty well i suppose. so.........what's next? .......not much. not much at all. the earth outside is quietly gray, we've had rain off and on for the last few days. been having sinus migraines which i do not recommend to anyone. i did make a nice lunch .....and got to enjoy half today with the other half to look forward to for tomorrow.
sauteed veggies, added sliced red potatoes....made a beef mushroon gravy......put two small ribeyes in the casserole dish first, surrounded them with the veggies, covered it with the gravy, foiled it tightly and roasted it for two hours. a nice change after a week of top ramen and tea. i like the creamy chicken top ramen when i feel rough, it's warm, delicious and fast. rotate it between irish, english and peach tea and you have my sick chick diet overall......sometimes i throw in a bit of toast........or applesauce. a gentle diet for an upside down baby girl.
the trip to the mountains was quick but very nice. sara and i had a wonderful day last saturday. we enjoyed breakfast at a diner downtown Helen......we sat at the counter like a couple of truckers -brought big appetites, can't remember the last time i had a waffle. then we did a bit of shopping ......walking through several antique stores. followed by massages with Alyssa.......we found that by going to an independent masseuse we could actually afford it. she charged $45 for 40 minutes.......while sara had her massage first i chatted with a sweet teen age girl waiting on her hair appt. that night was her school's prom night.......she was such a sweet animated young lady! she is part of her high schools team something or other......her part is to ride her horse on to the high school football field, she and her rescue horse do a very intricate charming routine that gets everybody up and onto their feet. i'd kind of like to see that........! sara had gotten up to use the ladies room and she said that when she got back the two of us seemed to be the best of friends. she said she had never seen a girl of that age talk so much. hmmmm......it's true the young lady and i did hit it off......she told me stories about her nana and grandpa. about how nana definitely wore the pants in the family......about grandpa's trips to add to his collection of antique farm equipment. interesting......so different. grandpa goes off to places like iowa, montana and wyoming and always with his bride......but he never buys anything without checking in with nana first. she said they have a lot of silly arguments.......sometimes it's hard for her to understand them......but she loves them like crazy. ......
the massage was so nice. my goodness..........she (Alyssa) gave me some great advice, she told me to research naturopaths. she told me how much her health had improved with changes she had made. Alyssa had just turned 62 and she really did look great. she showed me pictures from a year or two prior and it was really something.......she's getting younger looking. if i just saw her on the street i'd think she was in her mid fifties......and not one gray hair yet. lucky girl.....
i'm rambling......sorry. after we left there.......and by the way, it rained hard all that day.....after that we went to Clarksville Ga to tour some more antique shops. sara found a pair of cool mid century modern nightstands. she talked the lady into selling them to her for a mere $40. total, $40 for both pieces...! i was impressed with her negotiating skills! after a little more shopping i found a pretty antique oval glass dish......it's clear with a deep blue swirled into the pattern.......then we went to the Copper Pot for dinner. we each had a small pizza made just for us.......she got a sausage pizza, i got the bianca....made of fresh spinach, white wine cream sauce, mushrooms......the crust is to die for, the cheese, everything is so fresh. wish you could try it, soooo good! we split a ceasars salad......and only ate half of our little pizzas so we'd have room for gelato. we both got the chocolate hazelnut flavor, so light and creamy. then we headed back to the condo to light a fire and watch a movie. i think i saw maybe ten or fifteen minutes of Captain Marvel......i was out like a light.
but yes it was a very good day..........so tired i need to stop typing now. love to all, love to hear updates as you are able......ruthmarie.bennett@gmail.com if you like. hugs, ruthie

Ruthie - sending love & hugs to you. Sugar Bear!!!
Ruthie, I'm glad you were feeling well enough to put on some real clothes. Glad you felt up to eating real food again too. Your mini vacation with Sara sounds wonderful. It sounds like you had a great "girls getaway". Fun without being too hectic. You'll probably see your new friend heading up a talk show some day. Haha. Sounds like a sweet girl with a friendly spirit.
