So I went to the psych eval today....
And got my diagnosis as it were. I am a: Neuroleptic Parasomniac with Bipolar. Neuroleptic: A term that refers to the effects of antipsychotic drugs on a patient, especially on his or her cognition and behavior. Neuroleptic drugs may produce a state of apathy, lack of initiative and limited range of emotion. In psychotic patients, neuroleptic drugs cause a reduction in confusion and agitation and tend to normalize psychomotor activity. parasomnia /para·som·nia/ (-som´ne-ah) a category of sleep disorders in which abnormal events occur during sleep, such as sleepwalking or talking; due to inappropriately timed activation of physiological systems. bi·po·lar (b-plr)adj.1. Having two poles; used especially of nerve cells in which the branches project from two usually opposite points.2. Of or relating to both ends or poles of a bacterial or other cell.3. Of or relating to a major mood disorder that is characterized by episodes of mania and depression. Isn't this interesting to know? I knew about the neuroleptic part but I didn't know the definition until today. I have been neuroleptic for a year now. I also knew I was a parasomniac but I didn't know what the term was until today. Interesting, huh? I thought so. Have a good day. Princess

That is interesting. I had never heard the first two terms before. Glad to know you got a proper diagnosis, that\'s always the first step.
