So hard to deal with!

Hello friends...Only a year ago I was running around, going to the store in my car, walking through the Mall, visiting my family and so many other things. Oh sure once in a awhile I had a bit of trouble breathing, but nothing to worry about really. So I though. October of 2013, I got a bad chest cold, then bronchitis stepped in. All of a sudden I couldn't breath. NO air. I ran to my neighbors house and she called 911. I recovered in a few days and went home. Nov, Dec, and Jan. I had several episodes where my breathing was so restricted. I quit smoking Jan 26th, 2013. I got worse. To the hospital again 2 more times, and then in July I was put on o2. Hummmmm, then I got worse and worse. I couldn't walk 15 feet without stopping to rest. Next was the walker. I started using my walker and at first I was glad that It allowed me to take Now this is just too hard to take so quickly. I finally asked my pulmonary Dr. why this was happening so quickly. My lungs went from 46% to 32% now. He said my body is not responding to treatment. He said the awful words. There is no more that can be done. I have set my Apt up so that I can better take care of myself. I have a girl who comes and cleans for me, and goes shopping and does my laundry. She can give baths, etc.for when I need more care. My Pulmonary Doc says I will be in a nursing home in 6 months to a year. Unreal.....I am really struggling with such little notice. Every week or so, I find something new that is too hard for me to do. I struggle to breath with every exertion. It's worse when a front is coming through, high humidity, hot humidity, high pollen counts, etc. I have been diagnosed with allerys, dust mites, and dog dander, mold and when the trees are budding. In other words all days bring unwanted suffering to my breathing. I have very few good days, where the weather, elements and environment are all laying low at the same time. It's so frustrating to me. So much to get used too, and on top of that, many of my friends and some family members don't believe it's as bad as it is.....I am so frustrated. I would like to have some compassion, so pampering. I am alone, and sure could use a hug and lots and lots of kindness. I have gained so much weight due to the Prednisone. I try so hard to eat less, but the hunger is unbelievable. It's just me and my little dog here. He's a pomernian. His name is Einstein. He is my love. I don't know what I would do without him. Just thought I would vent. I just can't believe this whole thing.

Hi,

This is what this site is for to vent. I am so sorry you are having such a hard time of it. Do you think it might be a good idea to get a second opinion from another pulmonolgist? It could not hurt and you would know you have tried everything.

This disease is horrible and it affects all of us differently.

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Karen, I just now found this place to comment on your message. I\'m sorry I did not respond sooner. Thank you for your kind words and support. I did go to another Dr. and they agreed with the treatment I was on. I am soon getting another Dr. to take a look. I sure hope someone can help me soon!
