so crazy.
this is me venting about the cleaners that came today. i need to vent, it's not very interesting or exciting, but i need to get it out and move on..................!!!!!!
the three cleaning ladies descended on my abode this morning with a vengeance. YIKES! it was very overwhelming. they swarmed in, made no introductions......which felt odd, but they got busy. Nobody said, Hi we're with Company X, I'm suzie, this is addie and that is the one we call the china shop BULL.........
they just grabbed materials.........lady a. hit the bathroom, lady b. started in my room and lady c. hit the kitchen/laundry room.
lady b. started off with a big wiper downer thingy to 86 any cobwebs hiding in corners.......she went at it with a bang, almost knocking pictures off walls, i asked her to SLOWDOWN. as i said the words slow down to her, she almost knocked another picture off it's hook. she slid the wiper downer thingy against my window blinds & whacked 'em shut......she was moving in a very ball busting whack the dust off manner......not very good, not smooth or safe for my possessions. again i asked her to slow down. then she got busy knocking dust off the ceiling fan, never asked me to move, got gunk everywhere.......i was in the process of getting up when she covered my bed and me in celing fan dirt. I can't get up fast or move fast........seriously what was this girl thinking???
she reminded me of that expression about a "bull in a china shop".......she punched the dirt off stuff in a clumsy haphazard fashion.......she almost broke a treasured plate, the plate was a gift from a much loved Aunt when I became a Momma.......had to again ask her to slow down. seriously please slow down. she almost knocked a stand with perfume bottles over.......now i wonder if she needs glasses. either that or she is not suited to clean around people's treasured items.
i didn't like the way she stabbed and slammed around my room at all.......glad when she went into the living room, but then i saw her almost knock the big mirror off the wall........i had to caution her AGAIN. she didn't seem high but something was definitely amiss. she was a petite sized girl.......not an amazon at all.......but she reminded me of a mini prize fighter.
i was praying for my living room possessions........i thought i heard something break but nothing was said so i thought maybe it was just another near miss........
i go into the living room to see what's going on.......i have a wooden tray sitting on the old gun trunk......things are now arranged differently, so i pick a small candy dish up......the item below it is busted into bits. it's a beautiful marble coaster a friend gave me and now it's in rocky bits.......the young lady was in the van hiding out. mercy. she could have told me, i'm not this big meany head, but since she didn't i started to feel mad.......and wondered what else wasn't handled right. she did a half crappy job vacuuming, they made her come back in to vacuum the area rugs.......she only vacuumed half of each of the two rugs, now i'm really thinking she must be blind as a bat.......
i go into the bathroom, lady a. left the bathroom scales on the floor upside down and uncleaned. she forgot to empty the trash can, the toilet bowl brush was still sitting in the toilet........at this point lady a was also outside in the van waiting to leave......i pulled the shower curtain open---she had taken the shampoo, conditioner, etc. off the rack and left it on the floor of the shower. wow.
the kitchen lady, lady c. did a much better job overall.......the floor had been mopped, the counters wiped down, but there was a lot of kitty litter still on the floor in the laundry room, i asked her to come back in and sweep that area up.......pull out the litter box, sweep behind it.
nobody damped mopped the hardwoods in the living room........MAN! made me mad.
i know it's a lot of stupid detail, but they were here for only 50 minutes and did a semi sloppy loppy job of things........not all bad, but not all good either. i called the owner to complain and he tells me to go over it with one of the ladies on site. he is talking over me and not interested in listening so whatever...........i finally talk over him until he is quiet..........i say i wanted to hire you for years of service but based on today that will not be happening. tried to tell him about the broken item and the overall sloppy rushed mess of it all.......it was upsetting, not this smooth well oiled machine of professionals. i used to clean homes when i was a teen ager ......and appreciate a job well done. lady b. is basically a danger in the home......
after they left i spent a good hour completing their work putting things where they go, tidying with a duster or broom and so forth. i only paid them $60, not the agreed upon $80 to cover some of the cost of the broken item. then later i sent the owner an email, and said i could have referred his company to friends, family and area businesses but based on today's experience i would not do that nor would i want them back in my home. it was unpleasant to have to watch that one cleaner in particular every second fearing for my things.......
time is money .......but they rushed so much that i was very unimpressed with the quality of work. this was only a basic cleaning......the tub is very clean, yay. the countertops were all wiped down......i had to knock off big globs of dust off the top of the kitchen cabinets and dust off all the air vents. poor workmanship overall.........so sad.
gotta get over it now........please Lord help me curb my complaints, and help me find a good cleaner solution for next month. tomorrow i am going to pick up a 9' by 12" outdoor BLUE patio rug from walmart and maybe some white paint too. i want to paint a small outdoor wooden table and chairs........i will need a few hours movement to accomplish these tasks. so sick of the pain in my left leg all the time........help me get on track spiritually........this grumpy old lady inside me isn't much fun to be around......gotta keep striving for a calmer more content self.
guess it's time to make some more top ramen........my voice is coming back, that's another good thing! poor rio...........those ladies freaked him out somethin' awful! poor little boy kittums!!!!!!!!

Yes, ramen--I know it well. Sometimes I'm just too tired to do anything else. I do hope you find a cleaning solution. Much love.
oh no what a horrible experience for you and rio. hugs.
keep your head up my friend and keep looking. Just so unprofessional in how they cleaned. a persons home people things and animals deserve kindness and respect.
glad you got it off your chest. wishing you and rio good sleeps ♥
That sure was a terrible experience. If I were you I would report them to the Better Business Bureau since you did report them to the owner & he was not very helpful himself.
I too have a cleaning crew who comes every 4 to 6 weeks & the owner is one of them. They all have a certain part of my house that they clean. They do a good job but I always have to go around after they leave & put things back in their proper place. I guess that's just the way us Type A personality are. LOL
Hope you fine that perfect maid or cleaning service soon.
My blood is boiling almost. How dare they call themselves professional or even cleaners. The last time I had a cleaner here, she kept bashing my brand new vacuum cleaner against all the corners of the walls like a total lunatic. I told her to leave my husband's room and then I caught her sneaking in there because she thought I was still in my bed. She got a shock when she saw that I was right behind her. I told her to pack up and go, the sneaky thing. Many years back, I had a lady who used to move the furniture all around but it was very obvious she hadn't cleaned. Also a long time back, I had a cleaner, and I started noticing certain clothes were missing and then one day I realized that she was stealing them. I tried to track her down and charge her but was unable to catch her.
Oh dear I have so many stories about cleaners. I had to fire one really lovely sweet lady because she was almost collapsing when she tried to clean. I asked her what was wrong with her because she had no strength or energy. She told me she had CFS. I told her I had employed her because I was so ill with CFS. I hugged her and we both cried. It was the saddest thing. She needed the money but she could barely hold up . I'll never forget it.
Frank does the cleaning now. I do lighter domestic duties when I can. I'm so sorry you had to put up with all that stress Ruthie. I'm not surprised though. You need to find someone well known with a good reputation. It's not an easy task, , that's for sure.
What a stupid so called cleaning team. We get them here too. Bloody lunatics...breaking things as well. Glad you didn't pay the full amount.
I had a crazy gardener many many years ago when I had my beautiful home....sob sob. Anyway all my tropical flowers were blooming and my garden was just gorgeous. So much color. Anyway, when we arrived home the gardener had cut off every flower in my garden. He must have been mentally ill. He lived in our suburb and had been highly recommended. OMG !! OK got to go Love Diane xoxo.
