"so called" interview
The rest of the weekend was fantastic. We really managed to surprise my cousin for her belated birthday and she was so happy! And it was a great excuse for our little non-family-family to get together. I miss my cousin now that she's moved away! Luckily I get to see her again for the holidays this year. We have lots of cooking/baking/movie seeing to do. And of course, snuggling her darling little almost-1-yr-old baby.
I had a job interview today - or so I thought. As it turns out, the interview was was more of a screening by the personnel agency. Just paperwork, background check, id check....and a test in Excel. Apparently, my test score is being sent to the hiring company along with my resume for the client to choose 4 people to interview. I am supposed to hear by tomorrow about this. It's a short term 2-day per week conctract...We'll see how it goes. I have no idea what the client is looking for in one admin person vs. another, so hopefully my 3-page resume won't automatically knock me out of the running. I know it should be contained to two pages, but I've been working since 1993....there's a lot of information and background there!
Rather than go home and be sad that the family was gone, I stayed downtown, where the energy is more like NYC (my heart's true love) and did some Christmas browsing before meeting up with my fiance to take the train home. After four hours in high-heeled boots (without sitting once) I was ready to sit on the floor, but the train was too crowded for even that.
I am trying to keep the momentum up - getting out of the house, doing some fun things...doing anything really...
What's nice about this year is that it's first time in a while I've had the time to think about and want to work on some Christmas projects. Last year was a sad old bust in that department....and the years before while I was still in school, I was always rushing to finish finals on top of figuring out what to do about Christmas.
Anyway, I would say that things are going well in the mood department. I have been feeling good and energized. I have even wanted to do things and then found them fun. I swear it feels like a miracle. The miracle of modern medicine....don't knock it.
More tomorrow.
