SO ANgRY!
I am so angry at my MIL. She can be such a bitch! Pardon the language.
She does alot of things concerning my daughter, that I do not like. She says mean things about my parenting, and she makes cut's pertaining to my family. I take it in stride, trying to remind myself that I'll outlive her(kidding..sort of).
I bought my daughter new shoes, her first real pair of shoes. Before this she just wore crib shoes. She is 9 months and discovering that walking is the way to go. So I bought her some sandals that are a little too big but she will grow into them fast. They light up, which I actually didn't notice until I had them home! So yesterday she goes on and on about how she will have ruined feet and her neck will get strained from trying to look at her feet all the time. How when she sits and her legs cross she is going to do damage to her legs with the shoes because she often sits on one foot.
And I told her how Marlow loves to give kisses. She has learned to smack her lips and when she does she wants a kiss....if you don't deliver she head bunts you in an attempt to give you one. I was telling her, thinking she would get a kick out of it, and I said that when Mar attempted to smooch you she had bad aim and sometimes got your mouth and sometimes didn't. I was raised that you kiss your parents on the mouth...and I did so until I got older and decided I didn't want to anymore. No biggie. But my MIL goes on and on about how kissing a kid on the lips causes mental anguish and is messed up and no one should ever do it. She went on for almost an hour! She doesn't know that my family did it, and I'm not gonna tell her now! But seriously....what sort of damage am I going to do by kissing my nine month old on the lips occasionally?
Then lastly...and this one still makes me boil to think about it! She watched Mar while we test drove a car yesterday. When we show up to pick up the baby she goes 'uh oh, we are busted!' to Mar. So I walk into the kitchen and Mar is sitting there eating a cookie. I asked what sort of cookie it was with lead in my belly. Peanut butter!!!!!! They say you can give PB to kids at 9 months now but I wanted to wait for a year to be safe. My MIL didn't ask if it was ok to introduce one of the most dangerous foods. She didn't ask if my family had a history of nut allergies. She didn't bother to ask if maybe we had already tried it and she had shown allergies. So my daughter is sitting there, happily munching a peanut butter cookie, all the way across the city from the hospital.
I was livid. How dare she??? I told her, as controlled as I could, that Mar had not had peanut butter yet because I do have some people in my family allergic to it. And we had decided to wait until a year. She shrugs and says 'well she's not swelling up so it's fine. I knew it would be.' No, she didn't know it would be! She could of killed my daughter!!! And Joey and I had talked about waiting for a year, but when faced with myself and his mother he said he 'didn't remember talking about it at all'. What a cop out, way to support me!
So now I don't even want to see the woman. And we have an appointment later today that she was suppossed to watch Mar for. But what will she give her next? Shell fish? After all.....she KNOWS what Mar will react to. Where was she when the kiwi caused hives? Huh, sure wish I would of asked her first!
