Snuff by Slipknot
Bury all your secrets in my skinCome away with innocence and leave me with my sinsThe air around me still feels like a cageAnd love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage againSo if you love me let me goAnd run away before I knowMy heart is just too dark to careI can't destroy what isn't thereDeliver me into my fateIf I'm alone I cannot hateI don't deserve to have youOoh, my smile was taken long agoIf I can change I hope I never knowI still press your letters to my lipsAnd cherish them in parts of me that savor every kissI couldn't face a life without your lightsBut all of that was ripped apart when you refused to fightSo save your breath, I will not careI think I made it very clearYou couldn't hate enough to loveIs that supposed to be enough?I only wish you weren't my friendThen I could hurt you in the endI never claimed to be a saintOoh, my own was banished long agoIt took the death of hope to let you goSo break yourself against my stonesAnd spit your pity in my soulYou never needed any helpYou sold me out to save yourselfAnd I won't listen to your shameYou ran away, you're all the sameAngels lie to keep controlOoh, my love was punished long agoIf you still care don't ever let me know
From the first moment this song spoke so much to me about ending things with that man....

Hi Raniagale, reading your song lyrics prompted me into looking back at a poem I emailed to myself to keep in my archives. I sent it to myslef 5 years ago, yes, 5 yrs ago, actual date was 16th December 2005 at 2 mins past midnight (just checked the email). When I read this poem and realised the date I realised just how lonely and unloved I actually was in our 8 year relationship and just how long i stayed when this is how I often would feel.
Never
by Amy Stein
I wait by the phone everyday
But you never call
I get ready to go somewhere
But you never show up
I tell you important things
But you never listen
I say I love you
But you never answer
I write you mail
But you never respond
I ask if you love me, I ask if you care
But you never pay attention to me.
You make me feel all alone.
You make me feel unloved.
You make me feel like no one cares and no one ever will
How can you do that to someone you are supposed to love?
How can someone so sweet be so cruel?
How can I hate so many things you do but still love you so much?
Those are questions that will go unanswered forever
Because I can ask and ask but you will never respond.
Rainigale, this is a poem that I wrote myself on an \'awful day\'. It was in 2004, again, I stayed in that forsaken relationship. I always hoped the day would come that new door would open for me, but instead I decided to stay. to stay with the man who has like yourself given us so much damage whilst we lick our wounds and try so hard to repair ourselves. I hope you get some insight from this one, often you can learn something from others if not yourself in order to put your trials into perspective.....but this is just 1 episode of a very sad day for me. xx Lucy.

THE BIG PICTURE by Lucy Taylor
THE BIG PICTURE
I lay in my bed fast asleep.....then was woken on one Friday morn...
To hear shouts of abuse from my man, his voice so full of scorn
I did not know what I had done as he bellowed in my ear
The feel of dread I felt inside, the anguish and the fear.
I waited till he fell asleep whilst I lay there in wonder
What had I done so awful that deserved these words of thunder
I crept downstairs I could not sleep, his words so full of hate
I sat there stunned, confused and sad the time now very late.
I crept to bed afraid he\'d wake and dish me a second hounding
His body turned...I thought he woke, my heart was really pounding.
I only dozed occasionally....thinking of this man, this fool
Until my daughter called to me, \'We\'ve got to get to school\'!
Heck I thought, id got ten mins to wash, get changed.....tired me
I quickly grabbed my china cup made half a cup of tea
I swigged it back, put on my coat, then who came down the stairs?....
\'Twas the man who was shouting in my bed, giving me the glares.
He looked at me his face wore hate, contempt, then he started shouting
\'Where\'s my drink\' he hurled at me....I thought i\'d get a clouting
I couldn\'t bear his ordasity after all that i\'d been through
His raised his finger up in the air ........his words were \'Well f**k you!
I felt so hurt and angry too, I knew not what i\'d done
All I knew was how I felt whilst he was having fun
I left for school, and shouted back as I went out the door........
\'Don\'t be here when I come back co\'s I cant take no more\'
I did my school run then drove to town, I couldn\'t face go home
The shops were shut...I borrowed time... I felt so all alone
It gave me time to have a think of what id got to do
I knew i\'d got to leave this man and start a life anew
Three hours later I went home, in the hope\'s he wasn\'t there
He\'d gone and taken part his kit....the answer to my prayer?
I knew I couldn\'t carry on, so I packed him all the rest
I left them on his doorstep, i\'d acted for the best
I met him just two years ago.... in fact a little more
His life a mess, he was depressed, his face down to the floor
I felt the pain he felt inside, he thought it all too late
I thought id help this man so sad.......it was to be my fate!
\'Twas the morning of one Saturday, I called and knocked his door
To see me offering support, he couldn\'t wish for more
His face lit up behind his tears, at last he\'d found a friend
His dampened spirits low confidence I was about to mend.
Between his bouts of feeling low there was a man who\'d glow
What I took on that very day I really did not know
For in return for all i\'d done I was abused and so ill treated
The scars stay with me here today, I learned he was conceited.
Like many women who fall in love, they think there man wont falter
I stuck it out, and saw it through but I knew he wouldn\'t alter
I left him and he left me..... but we always got back again
But after oh so many times my plights were all in vain.
I gave my love, I gave my soul, I even dropped my \'wall\'
He had the very best of me, more than any man at all
Time did pass, I rebuilt my wall, I grew in my self confidence
For no more was I gonna stand for any of this nonsense.
No-one knows what ive been through, the truth of of my real fate
For he would tell them other things to kid himself he\'s great
I learned on that Friday Morning, something pulled my trigger
It wasn\'t the worst he\'d done to me, but somehow I did figure......
I realised....it wasn\'t love that he did feel for me
His insecurity and wonder at what next he could do to me
If he had a prob, it was mostly my fault, I grew tired of the blame you see
Friday morn I know not what i\'d done, so he invented id got PMT.
I\'m sad to think I have wasted two years of my precious life in vain
Ive sufferred the worst, I can suffer no more the anguish and the pain
At first I was feeling angry, at him and was cross at myself
For I was the fool that helped him and left my happiness on the shelf.
My trials with him made me harden, but im really a softy at heart
I cant see that that\'s gonna hurt me, for a while, at least for a start
You see no-one is here to protect me like that day I offered it he
I was just a salvation and tonic, and he sucked all the best out of me.
We did have some happy moments, but the bad times they outweighed the good
One day it would have to be \'over\' and Friday I knew that it would
Its all about self preservation, the difference from what\'s right and wrong
Who knows one day this little poem, I might make it into a song.
We all make mistakes in our life time, we should nourish and grow from their wealth
For now I am grateful i\'m wiser and thankful im still in good health
When you know your love was forsaken and Cupids arrow was really a dart
Hold tight to your pride & respect even though he had taken your heart.
Now this is a lesson I learned, even though he had changed quite a bit
When he is stressed out and loses his job, he\'ll kick someone and I was IT
Don\'t search your heart to find reasons why he did what he did....or you\'ll find
That he wont change not even an apeth, if you search you\'ll go out your mind.
Take a sigh and know that you tried, battles weren\'t all fought at wars
For the biggest battle I can fight is finding my new open doors
A corridor with doors that open, each one is nearly in sight
As I will find the welcoming door that rays bright of warmth and sunlight.

Thank you for sharng your poems loosylastic. I\'m so flustered with life, I\'m having trouble keeping up here on the site, even though it\'s what often keeps me sane. I am very much the same. I have years and years of writings that reflect exactly why I shouldn\'t have stayed.
