Smokey's car & living alone

Smokey's car is turning into my red albatros around my neck that is for sure.  Smokey loved his 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier 2 door coupe.  It was his first new car that he ever bought for himself.  I don't know why he did not put proctector insurance on the car.  It mystifies me.  It probably had to do with money more than anything else.
1.  The battery is dead.  Dave is going to see if he can get it started.  If not, I will have to fork out more money for a new battery.  I can't find the KM on the car until it gets started.  I checked it out the other day and then got Dave to start the car.  It's when we found out the battery was deader than a door nail.
2.  The Driver's side lock was broken a few years ago which Smokey never got fixed.  Now I will have to fork out more money to get this fixed.
I will have to do the above two things because I want to sell the car.  I need to get the kilometers on the car for my storage insurance people.  People will want to know how much KM on the car before they buy it.
Living alone sucks.  I hate living alone by myself.  I know I have a wonderful boyfriend in Dave.  He is just what I want for myself.  We both live in different apartment complexes.  It's okay.  I just needed to vent that I do not like living by myself.  I never did.  I am used to having people always around me whether I was a kid living with my mom and two brothers, being room mates with someone, married or common-in-law.   I like having people around me that is for sure.  How is everyone else finding living alone when your spouse/partner dies?
