Slow Day

Today was a slow day. I just kinda lounged around the house most of the day and slept. I woke up with a migraine, so I went back to sleep and then took some Excedrin when that didn't work. Luckily it went to the back of my head and kinda just is napping there for now. It's not gone yet, but it's not a horrible brain-numbing migraine either. I have Imitrex in case it gets out of hand, though. I didn't do much today because partially of the headache and stuff. I did do my exercises and all that for the day, so that's at least good. I'm trying out a new thing, the SparkPeople tracker, here's the link:
http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_tracker.asp?id=LARISSA238&dte=6%2F11%2F2011
If that works, it shows you what I ate for the day and the workout I did. Just the basics for the workout strength training, and food. Dinner was homemade meatloaf, so it's a bunch of things that went into the meatloaf since there was no recipe thing I could do to shorten it. I hope the link works.
Anyway, I decided that I want to save up to get a bike. I think that's going to be my next investment in myself. I want to get one so I can exercise better outside. It's so pretty out here most of the time (even with the heat, over 90) and I would like to bike and explore. I'm right next to a bike path, so it'd be great if I could take advantage of it. I can walk to the bike path, but I would love to be able to bike a couple miles up the road and stuff. I think when I first get the bike again I will only be able to bike as far as I can walk, but with time my legs will get stronger and I will be able to bike farther. It just gives me more incentive to work harder in the gym when I go. I wanted to walk more today, but I wanted to take it easy on my knee more, so I just did a short walk. Maybe tomorrow I will be feeling up to walking more, but I want to take it slow because on Monday I start back on the C25K program again.
I have started thinking about what I'm going to do after I finish the walking C25k program. I'm either going to work on walking a 10k or go to the jogging and walking C25k. I just want to get out there more and go farther and get faster. I'm doing good on the walking... I'm down to about 27 minutes a mile now if I'm careful. I know that's slow, but I'm glad I can do anything at this point. I used to be able to run a 5k in about 30 minutes, and now I'm walking a little over a mile in that time. Oh well, that's life. I'm going to get back into shape where I will be able to run like that again, I just have to be careful and make sure I have good shoes and take it easy if I get shin splints again. That's what killed me last time, the shin splints. I got them so bad I could barely walk for a while, and didn't take the time needed to rest so I had them for years and years. I think they are finally gone and I should be able to get back to running when I'm ready for it.
Ah, the dreams I have... I want to do a marathon eventually. I'm not 16 anymore, but I can still do it. There's no law saying you have to be so many years old or younger to run one. Although I'm probably going to walk/jog my first one. I can't wait! I'm so excited... I know I can barely do a mile and a half now, not to mention the 5k, but I'm going to get there one day. I'm going to work hard and not give up. I need to create a motivation diary where I can post motivational pictures and stuff of what I want to accomplish once I lose the weight and get back into shape.
Stress/Mood/Sleep- Today I just took it slow, no stress. I'm keeping my mood at good, since nothing really out of the ordinary happened today. Well, I randomly laughed at Angela (she was trying to fall on her back so I could rub her belly, and she ended up falling on my leg and flipping over onto her head. It was so cute!) and that was nice. Sleep- I got 13 hours last night, and it felt good. I fell asleep pretty easily and slept until noon. I was awake at 10am, but I had the migraine so I tried going back to sleep to sleep it off. I didn't nap today because I've felt pretty good all day.

great idea about the bike! biking is a lot of fun and i find not bad on the knees. you will definetly find your legs getting stronger, which in turn will help your knee, making the muscles around the knee stronger takes less pressure off the knee. one thing though, your butt will hurt, lol. doing things step by step, and before you know it you will be running again and your right there is no age limit!!

you have some good plans for doing new things after the 5K . Keep working you will get there.
Sounds like you would really enjoy the bike. Hope you can save for one.

I agree with ann54 you can run a marathon at any age. Good luck

A slow day is just what you kneeded (Get it? Knee did, funny huh, beecause of your knee, okay, so it wasn\'t.)I like the bicycle idea, if your knee start to bother you, you can just coast a bit and take it easy and still get your exersize, you can also get around town more without having to take the bus so much, it will serve two purposes for you. Good for you. Have a great day.
