Slip up

I had a slip up today... I went to a buffet. I tried to eat kinda healthy, but I know I went over my calories. Now I'm facing chicken wings for dinner. I decided I was going to fry Geo's wings since that's how he likes them, and broil mine. This way we both get what we want. I'll do that when I'm done with this journal. I'm back to day 1 of my no fast food streak. Well, bad fast food anyway. I don't count Subway or a chili from Wendy's after a workout as bad. The chili has the protein and fiber my body needs after a good workout, and Subway is good as long as you stay away from the meatball sub.
I need to call my physical therapy place on Monday to reschedule my Tuesday appointment for Friday. I can't do p/t back to back. I did that Thursday and Friday, and I could barely do anything on Friday. I'm still sore today (Saturday). I'm going to continue my homework tomorrow when I'm up to it a bit more. I was supposed to do Tuesday/Wednesday, but I'm just going to do Wednesday, Friday, then Monday. After that, I'm going up to see my mom.
My mom is in the beginning stages of MS and her husband is working in Tampa while she is working in Jacksonville, FL. He tries to go see her every now and then, but he's working 6 days a week. My mom went down there today after work to go visit for the weekend. I'm going to see her for a week, maybe a week and a half before I come home. She just shouldn't be left alone for so long. It gets hard. She does have her pets (the nicest pit bull you would ever know and a super cute cat) to keep her company, but she needs people around her as well. A nice visit from family is always welcome. It's going to mean more time on the train, but I don't really have a problem going on the train. I just stare out the window and try to sleep. And it's the later train, so I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to go to the station. Anyways, that's me for now!

Sorry to hear about your Mom and MS. Hopefully she learns how to cope with it and continues to have a full rounded life.

that is sad about your mom and i think you are right about going to see her, it will make both of you feel better. i know all to well about slip ups, so try and not beat yourself up to much, i think you did great by still eating dinner and the idea of broiling the wings a good idea. many hugsss

Sorry to read this about your mom, too, but she does sound like she has a wonderful daughter who is aware of her needs, and I\'m thankful for that!

Great how you know your choices/needs in regards to food and try to always be aware of where you are at.
