slight aggravation

It seems as if not having the distraction of buying a vehicle has now focused all of my wife's energy back into exploring my faults .  Iv'e noticed her being "testy" over certain topics, being 5 minutes late to dinner, taking time from our family to help my mother get my uncle's estate in order, and most recently last night, over the topic of why haven't I been actively looking for different place of employment and how she thought maybe I would change and not put myself first all the time.  Most of these things come out of nowhere and catch me off guard, in the past I would of probably just lied and told her what I thought she would want to hear.  Now I just tell her how it is and it's hard, but at least she cant be mad at me for lying.  I love the company I'm at, I'm settled in, have copious amounts of freedom to do as I please when I please, I make a lot of money compared to others in the construction industry.  These things have all led to an easier life for our family and led to pretty much every materialistic thing that we have.  The entire family has benefited from my employment at this company.  In my eyes, I was trying to get the best of both worlds, keeping myself settled and I thought helping to settle my wife by remaining in the same zip code as her (I request projects near her, that way we can do lunch once a week, etc.) I thought it would ease her mind that I wasn't out screwing around with the woman from the office, who was part of the scenario that got me into this mess.  She also back handedly accused me of lying to her last night about talking to this woman.  I haven't and I told her regardless of the circumstances, if I did have to communicate with her I would let my wife know, the whole being an open book thing. Then as quick as the fight would flare up, it would die out, the hours following are enjoyed just the same as nights without a flare up.  Leaving me happy but also slightly aggravated.

When I read your journal entries, I\'m reading my life too. Thanks for sharing. The anger cycle will continue for a while. My advice is to not get complacent when things seem well. Anything is a trigger back to anger. I\'ve been accused of being selfish, too. Which I am. Don\'t know how to fix that, but working on it. I\'m always being accused that what I said was a lie. That\'s always hard to stomach. Just keep moving forward.
