Sleep not happening

Well, 5 after midnight, trying to sleep or even getting comfortable a joke. Sciatic pain, neck pain, but more than that. Kind of a crawling, jumping out of my skin feeling. I wish I had a cigarette. Wish I had a whole bunch of cigarettes. I'm safe for tonight. In my nightie, everything all closed up in this podunk little town. Guess I'll watch an old movie. Literally, thank God for TCM! I love old movies. They had the illusion of people madly in love and moral, the idea that the good guy won out in the end; and that doing right was both possible and respected. But it was only celluloid. Those movie good guys were perverts, players, degenerates, etc. The women were cold, alcoholic, child beaters, tramps. Hmmm, guess nothing's changed/ Except now the stories they tell are "real". Yea, except for all those superheroes.

I hope you were able to find some sleep. I definitely go for a lot of distractions when I'm in a lot of nagging discomfort. I have an ipod full of audio books, radio plays and podcasts, and I'm listening to something pretty much any time I have to push through the pain to get things done. Cooking, laundry, grocery shopping. And I get that crawling feeling. I've gotten on the exercise bike after midnight to try and dispel that restlessness. Sleep tight!
