Sleep for Fun

Today I slept in for fun. I love sleeping, so when I woke up at noon and had nothing to do, I just chose to go back to sleep. I was up for about an hour before I went back to sleep, eating breakfast and taking care of my cat, Angela. Then I slept until 3pm. I only got up because I wanted to be able to go to sleep tonight without klonopin. I also wanted to have coffee, but decided against it for the same reason. I've been sleeping better since I started my taper/detox thing. It's funny that I used to rely on meds so much for sleep, and now that I'm stopping them I'm actually sleeping better. I have woken up in the middle of the night a couple nights ago when I first started the detox, but then I was able to go back to sleep without klonopin. I had a bit of trouble falling asleep last night, but that's because the fan wasn't working and I had to try and sleep with noise. I finally got Geo to come in and fix the fan so I could sleep. Besides, it's his fan and he needs it to sleep as well, so I figured that he would prefer to try and fix it while I was still awake and he could turn the light on.
Mood today was good... I didn't have anything bad happen, and the taper is going well, like I said. I'm not experiencing any bad withdrawal symptoms yet. I'm going to lay out my pills for the week in a bit, and I'm going to plan out my taper as I go along. Every Sunday night I set out my pills for the week in my pill planner. The only medicine that I'm worried about tapering is the Neurontin. I haven't been on it long enough to have a hard taper of it, it's more of that last time I tried to taper it the mood swings came back fast. I had to wait a couple days for it to go back to normal once I started taking my usual dose of it. I don't know if it's going to happen again when I try and taper. I'm going to try again on Tuesday night since I don't have to work on Wednesday. I also have Thursday off, so it gives me 2 days to try and recover. If not, I can always try Friday night.
My knee was still hurting today, so I didn't go for my walk again. I have to tomorrow, to walk to work, but it shouldn't be too bad. I have time to rest if I need it. I'm not going to let my knee stop me from going to work unless it is really really bad. I already have so many things preventing me from going to work, I don't need to add physical pain. I just tried to rest it the past couple of days so that I could walk to work and be okay. I did do laundry today, but that's more of an arm thing. I have to lift a heavy laundry bag full of clothes to the laundry room at the other side of my building. I'm just lucky to live on this side of the complex where we have the laundry room in the same building as us. The people on the other side have to walk to get to their laundry room, since it's not in their buildings. My knee isn't feeling too bad now, so I hope that tomorrow I will be up for going to work. I just don't get to sleep in as late as I would like.
I just hope this detox thing goes well and I get off my pills okay. I don't want to end up like my friend Andrea, who can really only lie in bed for most of the day with horrible pains from withdrawal. I know that if I start getting bad symptoms to halt the taper until I think I can go back on it. If I need any help tapering I know that I can ask her for help. She tapered off klonopin, which is a nasty drug with the withdrawal. You can get seizures from withdrawal and die. That's why I'm doing the taper in the first place, even though my meds aren't known for their bad withdrawal. I was going to quit cold turkey, but everyone was telling me to taper so that's what I'm doing. I will know if I'm going too fast if I get withdrawal symptoms.
Food today was bad. I'm low on my calories again. If I can eat some peppermint bark, I will be at 1,200 calories. If not, then it will be more like 1,000 calories which is just not enough. I let myself go at 1,200 sometimes, but I know it's not good to reduce too much. I haven't been exercising, so it's okay if I'm a bit under. Tomorrow, though, I need to eat more calories since I'm going to be going to work. I can do that easily if I take my Marie Calendar's pot pie with me. I might actually go over my calories tomorrow if I do that and have mac and cheese with dinner. I don't know what I'm going to do with the chicken tomorrow. Tonight we had a change of pace and I ate a pork chop. I had ramen for lunch and a Fiber One bar for breakfast, so that's why I'm so low on calories. Well, that and I spent most of the day sleeping, so I didn't get hungry from that.

You are doing good with the taper and it seems the slow taper is working!

I am truly astonished how well the weaning off process with the meds works for you. You are so lucky and it\'s fantastic. But you need to eat your cal amount to be able to keep doing that.
My husband loves Marie C. poppies. I just can\'t seem to get into them - good for him, lol.

it is amazing how well the tapering is going way to go! i hope the neurotin goes ok. in order to get enough calories in you have to get up, though we all like to sleep, and do some work around the house or a hobby, something. you will feel hungry and be awake to eat. i dont know what time you go to bed, but 3:00 is very late to be sleeping in. sorry if im offending, it is just my opinion, i know you require plenty of sleep but as they say, sometimes to uch of a good thing.. never had the pot pies, sound good though.

Ann, don\'t worry, you aren\'t going to offend me. I know it\'s late to sleep in until 3pm. I just love sleeping. I was able to fall asleep last night okay and slept pretty good this morning. I got up at 8, so I guess it\'s my body regulating sleep. The Marie Callendar\'s pot pies are good, but they have so many calories!
