Sirens wailing

Just heard another siren.  I live on a busy street, between the police detachment and the hospital...every time I hear a siren, especially an ambulance, I wonder if someone is about to have their life shattered.  The last time we called an ambulance, it was the last time Tom was ever here in our home.  He was going through some kind of psychotic episode due to hepatic encephalopathy.  He was throwing pills around, calling for help out the door, and trying to rip wires and electrical fixtures out of the walls.  Two months later, he was gone.
In 2010, my son went into cardiac arrest.  Fortunately, he survived, and is still with me today.  But he came close to not coming back.
Sirens make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.  I hate sirens.

In 2014 I had to call an ambulance for Ron 9 times and 9 times he was admitted to hospital. I came to hate a siren. In January of this year I had to call 2 times and both times he was admitted. On the night he passed away our son had come for dinner. Ron had a seizure and Russ said he would call this time. 6 hours later Ron was gone. Every time I hear a siren I think of Ron and pray no family is going through what we went through. I understand exactly how you feel. Thank God you have your son! I wish him years of good health!
