Simplification

I don't remember if I wrote about this completely, but I don't think

I wrote about this expressing everything I thought about it.

I realized yesterday, it's both important to let go of responsibilities sometimes

and pursue personal desires and pursuits at times. I can't only be about

self responsibility - it makes my life completely about waiting for the next task

to happen and cause me to not seize the day when I have some free time. That self permission

to just go for whatever I want

though can block out the reminder and the awareness within myself of important

basic relationships for me. It's an extreme reaction within myself that is an issue

and so I can go to extremes with self indulgences

and forget what is important and practical.

I realized that I need to go for what I want when I can - but also must keep aware of basic relationships in my life..

I have to actively reconcile the two and in doing so it's opened my eyes to certain realities within and for myself

as well as for others.

It’s pretty amazing the walk it takes to do this, that we all have to take pursuing personal pursuits

but then also remember your pragmatic relationships.

Here at the monastery relationships are simplified. I am finding that it helps me.

Simplification of relationships helps free up that concerted effort for both a personal life

and core relationships and pragmatism. I think maybe that's part of why I was drawn

here. The relationships are very purely organized in simple and caring terms.

I can see how a lot of folks gravitate to the relationships that support taking care of life and that are steady and reliable.

This applies for whichever style of life is out there and it comes in different forms of course.

The whole idea of simplification of my relationships is helping me connect better with others here at

the monastery in a more meaningful and happy way.

It's just an interesting epiphany I am having and so I thought to write about it.

I think having relationships based on simple and caring terms is how all relationships should be but sometimes, someone will bring their ego into the relationship and then you have to be on your guard, so to speak ...

There is so much value in how we navigate all types of relationships in life. Interactions and interpersonal connections and communication are often filled with complexity that need not be there - but is - because of the way society works these days.

Lately I have been facilitating in person conversations where we can all grow and share and learn, which for me, is more about building transparency and trust in communities that are often clouded with conflict.

Ego does take over some people’s ability to get along and be considerate and empathetic toward those not like them. All very interesting to think about!
