Shot in the you-know-where

I started having a sore throat Thursday.  I thought Ah Ha, I know what it is, I can treat it myself.  Friday still not too bad, Friday night ah crap.  Had to cancel a canoe trip with the guys (Roy age 15 and Aaron age 13 and Michelle age 15).  It upset me, but I kept telling myself that I put myself out there for everyone else, and no gives a damn about except Roy, and even then its to a point.  I knew Roy was going to take it the hardest.  And he did.

When he found out he got angry with me and hung up.  Kept sending me text message "Let go camping".  I told their mom that I would go ahead and take them to the movies on Sunday, he felt that if I was well enough to go to the movies, I was well enough to take them on a two night canoe trip.  I know he is 15 and has a very rough home life, but I felt like he totally disrespected me.  Saturday I felt some better but by night got worse.  Sunday I couldn't swallow but still took them to the movies.  He was still upset.

I did make an appointment Sunday morning for urgent care that afternoon.  Turns out to be a tonsil infection.  They gave me a shot in the backside and another prescription.  I am to go back on Tuesday if not a lot better, for surgery.  BUT  I think had I had insurance they would be cutting the damn things out as I type.  &*)$!  I hate this, I have been sick so much this year I have not been able to afford insurance, guess I need to work out my priorities a bit more and buckle down and get it.

It’s just been a very bad weekend.  Oh and I'm changing my "I'm Feeling" to bad, so I can go further down the scale when I have weekends like this.

Ain\'t LIFE grand?? Since my kids are in their 20\'s, I can say with confidence, your kids will live! I know about spending time with them, you did the best you could with the movies. What that set you back? $150.. =/ I know about being sick as well and having no insurance, also know about tonsilitis, got mine out @ 17, rarely have I had a sore throat since. So I hope you feel better. Gargle with warm salt water, helps wash away the gunk!! You can JUMP through hoops BACKWARDS holding a glass of water for your kids, when they reach age of accountability, and I know from experience about catering to kids... do the best you can, try not to feel guilty and cut yourself a break. If you don\'t, no one will. Hope things get better. Hope you feel better.
