Shin problems

I'm going to need to take some time off my feet. I'm starting to develop shin splints. I was at the gym and they started hurting. My ankle is starting to hurt again, too. So I have to take some time off to heal again. I'm sad because I can't do Zumba tomorrow and I have so much fun in that class. Oh well... it's my fault for pushing myself so hard. I'm going to ice my shin for a bit and see if that helps. I still have my cream for my ankle, so I'm going to use that too. I mashed up a ton of bananas to make banana bread and froze the mashed bananas. I need to get butter to make them. Oh well... at least I have reserves!

Every one gets injuries time to time. Shin splints don\'t take too long to heal. Maybe a week at the most. Take a look at your shoes if their worn down a lot might be time for a new pair. Heel raises help with shin splints. Maybe look up on google how to do that exercise

I am sorry you have another injury, but don\'t blame yourself, shin splints happen to the most experienced athletes. I agree with the proper shoes, as I have bad feet, I got special inserts and it made such a difference. I have found that when the arch and shoes have gotten old and worn down, my feet let me know, and I have to replace them. the banana bread sounds yummy. hugssss

I will echo the above about checking the condition of your shoes. Also are you wearing the correct type of shoe? My hip lets me know when it is time for new shoes so your shins maybe letting you know it is time.

I hope you are up and at zumba classes again soon!

Oh dear, I understand your frustration. How long will you have to rest your shin & ankle? I hope you feel better soon. This has been a tough time for you.

Good luck with the Zumba classes. Hope you return to the fun soon

I had really bad shin splints in high school... it felt like someone was taking a dull saw to my shins. I never rested them properly and it took like 8 years to heal. So I\'m careful now to avoid them... I was just walking too fast on the treadmill. I\'m going to try going back to the gym on Tuesday.
