shake it off

I had a trying time with some socializing a little while ago...

at first it was ok - then started to lose perspective as I got tired when around others who I was with -

Came home now and have been trying to regroup -

the song by Taylor Swift came to mind..."Shake it off" or whatever it was titled.

I've got to deliver for my family 1st thing tomorrow morning.
Grateful for that.

Really looking forward to talking to my t on Tuesday.

I hope her vacation was good - and at this very moment

I need to commiserate - but I've got to carry on - keep calm and carry on -

much like everyone else...even if the monkeys are getting you down.

There are times when stepping away is the best gift we give ourselves! Hurrah for doing it in time to leave peace and calm!

Sorry Mid, but I have more to write now. When I was in this situation earlier on, I was so respectful and admiring
of all the responsibilities that the others there had and were undertaking, I appreciated so much what they were doing
and yet then as I fatigued and then something social dynamic went on, I lost all that perspective that was keeping me
a part of the group...that was keeping me in admiration of the others I suppose. Just got to shake it off - I know
nobody is perfect and yet I feel so blocked from my own mindset at the moment - I feel trapped. But I have to work it out.
We all gotta deal with crud - I just gotta get back into my routine.

I had to look up Taylor Swift and her song. Couldn't sit with it for long, much less get therapy mileage out of it.

But I sure agree with the sentiment of shaking it off. How 'bout a role model a bit more achievable for mere humans like you and I?

Social anxiety is tough. But I’m sure you have interesting things to say or do or contribute. Confidence gets wobbly for me, too. Keep practicing as you come out from hermit land. Other people feel that way too!
