Shadows to light.

"Bringing our shadows to light" is an act of courage and humility.  It expresses (exposes) the parts of ourselves we wish would simply "go away."  However, an interesting thing happens when those parts are exposed:  they no longer look so big and scary! (unmanageable and overwhelming).  Allowing light to illuminate our darker parts provides an opportunity, not only to see them, but to also ask ourselves, "How well am I served by these parts of me?"  The clarity that comes from this process and the energy we save that was previously wasted in pretending that these parts "are not me," can now be used and directed in a manner that better creates the life we want to live.

i agree with you about bringing our negative traits out into the light. pretending the \'shadows\' do not exist is not productive. thank you for expressing this idea.

Hello spirit, actually I copied this from a site called Lifescript Daily Reflections. I get it sent to my email inbox and a lot of the stuff is very inspiring to read. Wanted to share this one because it is so very true. Glad you like it. Hugs. :)
