Second meeting

I attended another widow/widower support group meeting, our group seemed to have doubled, had to use the bigger room. Tonights meeting seemed to help me understand a little more of what I am going through, with the anticipation of my first year anniversary coming up.
And helped me understand why I seem to be doing things out of my element. Like I have always been a saver and this year, I seem to have done the opposite. Have been really ashamed and mad at myself for it. But found out it could be part of my grieving process, I guess a form of acting out.
It was also 11 months today since I lost my dear Paul, so it was another good reason to go. I am looking forward to the next meeting on the 17th.

Karen,
I know what you mean \"learning to live by myself\" - my beloved passed away 13 weeks ago...
I\'m glad you are finding comfort in your support group. I have not found a group yet, but am in one to one counseling... this journey is so difficult, so sad, so lonely.
I pray every day for every one of us who have to travel this road.
Blessings,
Linda

Karen,
I am glad that the support group is helping you in your journey. I, too, have done a few things that weren\'t normal for me.......but since I no longer have a normal......it hasn\'t bothered me that much. Just getting by is the order of the day for now and though some days are better.....some even good....the bad ones still pop up and send me backwards on the journey. Thinking of you tonight on your eleven month mark and hoping that tomorrow is better and peaceful.
Hugs, Dianne

Karen - it\'s good that you found \"comfort\" in the group meeting. I haven\'t been to one - but a good friend found it very helpful to her. Take good care of yourself -- the holidays are not an easy time.
Peace - Doye

Karen, this road although less rocky over time is still long. Hang in there. Step by step. Hugs, Kip.

Hi Karen, I\'m glad to hear the grief support group is helping you. I attended a 13-week GriefShare group about 5 months after Ross died. It helped me a lot to realize the things I was feeling and experiencing were \"normal\" and I wasn\'t crazy. I am thinking of you today. The one-year anniversary and holidays are tough to get through so I hope you reach out to those closest to you and lean on them for support. Hugs, Tami

Karen, I gained so much from the Grief Support that I attended...just knowing and being with others that were experiencing the same feelings and going through the same things was so helpful. My group has ended but I realized just how much it helped me. I hit the one year mark this week and I think the anticipation of it was actually worse than the day it\'s self..hugs Ellen

Hello Karen, I enjoy my grief support group as well. It really has helped me understand this trip we are all on, and how we are all different yet very much the same. I get what you are saying about being out of your element, I have similar thoughts. It will be 5 months on Nov 8th since my dear husband left this world. It is still so very hard to wrap my mind around, yet I know things will never be the same. Many hugs and well wishes coming your way. Linda

Dear Karen, It seems like you are making progress even though it may not quite feel like it. I haven\'t started going yet, can\'t seem to bring myself to even talk about it...perhaps it is still too soon. I wish you all the best.

Love, Linda
