searching for virtue and integrity
I was sitting in morning meal and the reading they had for us to listen to while we ate
spoke about a specific monk being sought after for people hungry for virtue.
I thought about it and reflected my own sense of history with that.
I guess I do keep searching for kind of an integrity in life and get down on myself
feeling I have failed in that area of integrity and virtue. But I thought about this
in a compassionate light today, realizing that we each are seekers in our lives for something.
There are indeed others out there who seek out virtue and integrity in their lives.
Heck, specifically go watch the movie The Odyssey and you'll see the main character's
journey with that. I realized too whether we are truly competent at our jobs
or not - dignity is something we're each due in my humble opinion - but the discretion
to choose those who you do business with for their acumen is something I am thinking
about. Maybe I am just accepting my own unworthiness but acceptance here at the monastery.
It's taught me a lot.

Big hug sweetie...I think we all fall far from perfection when thinking of God yet he loves us anyway and the Holy Spirit is in us so how perfect is that!!
I've certainly fallen short as well
But I think beating ourselves up holds us back and causes hurt not growth
So if possible to recognize it and stop it when we can could be a gift we give ourselves in or to grow

We are each unique, made by God to our Own purposes.
Increasing your integrity, your virtue, are good goals, but rather than 'accepting your unworthiness', can you accept your Worthiness?
We all have gifts to contribute. But none of us have All the gifts to contribute. Together, we make the whole!
