Scrapbook

Tiina and I went to shop for scrapbooking supplies.  Tiina is going to help me do my page of Lisa.  We looked for decorations that represent Lisa's life.  I had to go outside for awhile because Micheal's was a store that Lisa frequented regularly.  Lisa loved crafts, so every time I turned a corner I remembered being there with her - she could spend hours going from one aisle to the other.  She did stamping, made jewellery, did water colors and acrylic paintings, knitted, crocheted, sewed, decorated cakes, and made soap; so almost every aisle held a memory.  I just cried and cried.
It didn't help that we had just taken Joe's brother-in-law out for lunch.  He is struggling after the loss of Susan.  He gave us a lovely collage of photos of Susan.  So it has been an emotional day.

Oh Honey ~

I am so sorry. I hate those triggers and they can hit just as hard now as they did when we first lost Corrie and Lisa. I had a rough day today too. Surprising things were smacking me in my face as I tootled around town doing errands. Today I went to Subway and left sobbing because Corrie loved their veggie sandwiches.

Sounds like Lisa left a legacy of beauty for all to enjoy.

Hugging you tight as we both bounce back from a tough day ~ with much love ~ Debbie

I Know EXACTLY what u mean. There are soo many triggers when I am out and about. Sometimes I avoid faster routes when I drive because the memories r still too painful. Someday I hope they will be easier. Big giant ((HUGS)), Phyllis

I understand those triggers and oh, wow... I was in Michael\'s too yesterday looking for things for Doug\'s page...

Feeling right alongside of you and just let those tears flow... I know I do.

Gentle care today and in the ones ahead.

I really understand Marlene, it hurts remembering those wonderful times of being with Lisa. I\'ve decided not to do a scrapbook page yet. I can\'t face looking through the pictures and remember all the good times. I need to let my heart heal more before I attempt it.

Marlene,
Triggers are everywhere, sometimes they just make me sad and sometimes the tears flow. The triggers are so odd, so unusual, nothing that anyone can really understand. I have a husband and a son and sometimes they get it and other times their faces show complete confusion when I try to explain.

I think it is important to honor the triggers, to put them in a positive place. They are helping us heal. Yes, it can be embarrassing in the wrong place with the wrong people but be gentle with yourself.

With much love,
Leda

Lisa sounds like such a talented, creative individual - I am sure that was so difficult for you. I\'m not certain I could make a page for David or even want to - bringing back too many memories. We do what we can do, I guess.
Those triggers are all a healthy part of grief, I think - some kind of escape valve, release of pain and emotion in the moment.
