scared about the future

I'm scared about the future today. I know we all might feel this way at times.

It can feel like a bottomless well that I can't hold onto anything but

I recognize I have got to focus on the practicals and the pragmatics.

I'm just dealing with this state of mind by focusing on what I can do to take care

of the present and the future. I've got to figure out ways to bring in more

$ to be as self sustaining as possible and preparatory for the future when

I can't work as effectively as I am now...Just writing about this is helping

me feel calmer. I will get going on the homefront chores.

peace and journey well. keep on keeping on.

when i get to worrying about the future, writing out those worries helps me focus and calm the fears considerable, sometimes it works for me to remind my inner doomsayer that the future is unknowable and a good outcome is as likely as a bad one. when that doesn't calm the gloomy doomer, i might visualize myself stuffing a sock in her mouth and hanging her from the balcony.

I'm thinking maybe there is some other way of reaching out into the local community to work
or attend something on Sundays to do something outside of myself over my time off.

I tend to compartmentalize my feelings in order to stay focused, on track and reassured
but I realize that in my pursuit of survival and being self sustaining, there is perhaps the question of finding someone else to survive with - split the journey in two? We're all trying to survive....

I have often felt too scared to approach that connection or had my own introverted nature.
Maybe there is something of a set of mental goggles that I could put on to remind myself to keep
reaching out to find that partnership.

Uggh. head trip,

The future isn’t here yet, but it’s healthy to have it in mind and not make compulsive decisions. It creeps up and overwhelms me too sometimes.

Today is feeling like I have too much to do. Taking moments to pause and breathe.

As for partnerships, we all get anxiety around the big picture of it and bliss is rare. I would say don’t journal about that anxiety or build it up or create FURTHER anxiety about the anxiety (socks in mouth, haha etc) and just use that energy in the daily maneuverings of personal relationships to navigate and grow and communicate in those inklings….pragmatically and realistically.

You are in the moment of today, and in the moment is the time for starting the foundation of your own peace. Then positive stuff can proceed from there.

Hugs.

I too have concerns about my future, John's future and the never ending challenges of each day...
All I can write from my own experience is that most of my Biggest Fears Never Happened....
despite working myself up into a Huge Tizzy Of Anxiety....I can be my own worse enemy with 'brain thoughts'
Work in progress to notice my self head talk more....put those Nasty Negative Weeds into the compost bin where they belong!
Hope you had fun at M/D's with football....love the image of you in a baseball cap :)
