scan results

Hello to everyone,
Sorry I am posting late.  The scans results showed a good deal of shrinking in the lung. The radiation therapy appears to have worked.  We asked for our scan reports and it just knocks you down to read about multiple tumors in lungs and kidney. But I am just looking at the results. STABLE!    none in liver, none in pancreas, none in pelvic area. It's hard to read and understand all of it. The onocologist was pleased with the report on the lung that was treated.  It looked like the tumor was just blown up. I don't know how to explain it better.
Our doctor is very excited about the new trial going on. I sincerely hope it might be the new and better treatment of kidney cancer for the future. It only has a number at this stage. The only thing I know is that it is given in the hospital  by IV every 3 weeks.
God bless you all,
Wanda

Hi Wanda, I\'m happy for your good results. I also wanted to let you know that we have had only two cycles of Sutent, one of three weeks in duration which was followed by one month off to get the blood counts back to a safe level. The second cycle was two weeks in duration and we are now into the fourth week of trying to get the blood counts high enough to safely do another cycle. We have a CT scheduled for tomorrow to see if there has been any results from those two cycles. The doctor has hinted that we might have to go another route. Side effect wise, this was pretty much a walk in the park. A couple of times, we had to take \"Imodium\" which did a good job. We were very grateful for no side effects...Also, great to hear that you are okay from Irene. Vernell

Hi Vernell, I have tried to send you messages with no results. I hate to hear about problems with Sutent. Maybe the onocologist will switch to something else. Please let me know.
Prayers, Wanda
