Saturday morning,a little achy but otherwise okay

Good morning journal, the time is now 8:49am,I retired to bed last night at around 9:25pm,tired after what has been a very busy week for me where I had to find reserves of strength that I'm not usually asked for, this morning I am a little achy, but otherwise okay.I awakened briefly at 4:15am when I felt my wife slip into our bed beside me,but I fell asleep again very quickly,my shoulder is still a little on the tight side, but pain free, and I will take that thank you very much. Now,what news I hear you ask?,well, the social worker from the mental health team duly arrived on Wednesday, her name is Tina Roberts and I would say she's close to my age,she was a little on the bubbly,"hi,I want to be your friend",type of person, and I thought to myself,"I'm getting exhausted just listening to you lady". I found her quickness of speech confusing as I tried to lip read her,and I had to ask her to speak slower, which she did with some effort, but even then, she was not the easiest person to read, and I am normally a very good lip reader, but I found it a very tiring exercise trying to follow our conversation and my wife, bless her heart, helped me enormously by translating for me when she saw I was struggling with what was being said.On the whole though, the visit went well enough, though I have to say that my previous social worker Carol Jolly gave me a better impression of her as a person than Tina did,she listened and she faced me and spoke in a normal tone of voice, enunciated clearly, and allowed me to fully read what she was saying, but I am willing to give Tina a try,I just have to get her used to talking at a normal pace rather than someone who speaks in paragraphs rather than sentences. As I've mentioned before,I find trust very hard whenever a new person enters my life,in fact, sometimes I have trust issues with people I have known for years, with Carol Jolly, there was an immediate bond and I trusted her almost right away, don't ask me why,I just felt that she cared more than the average person,we'll see how it goes with Tina, but at the moment she is not in Carol Jolly's league, but,I've only met her one time,so,we'll see how future visits go. Anyway, the outcome of her visit was that she wants to put a care plan in place for me,and also,my wife,as she is my full time carer,Tina wants to find out if there is anyway that her department can help her take care of me,perhaps sending me for a couple of days respite, there is a home called the phoenix center a few miles away where I could be looked after by professional people and thereby giving my wife a much needed break. My wife was not too receptive to that idea, she sees what she does for me as her job,and she does it wonderfully well, but it is a possibility if things get to be too much for her. Tina also mentioned getting me a panic button to wear around my neck,it's a device that I can press when I'm alone and I fall and can't get back up on my own or I become unwell,it is connected to somewhere that will send someone to see if I'm okay should I activate it,my wife very rarely leaves me on my own,but sometimes she has to go grocery shopping and leaves me for a short time and I know she worries in the time she is gone,so,I wouldn't refuse this so called panic button if they offer me one,if only to put my wife's mind at rest.Tina is also referring me to an occupational therapist who will come and look over our home and see if they can install aids that will make my life a little easier, stuff like shower seats, bath rails etc:,that would enable me to at least bathe myself,I find it difficult to stand in the shower, and even harder to actually get in the bath,so anything that will make these things easier for me to do would be welcome. We also talked about someone coming in to help my wife take care of me,but my wife is very protective and didn't think that it was necessary,I don't either as it happens,so that idea is on the back burner for now unless my health takes a drastic turn for the worse. So,we'll wait and see what type of care plan Tina comes up with when she next visits us on Wednesday of this coming week, now,to other news,I saw my doctor on Thursday morning,it was the usual how are you kind of stuff,I mentioned that I was still dizzy on rising, and the pain in my left shoulder and neck area when I awakened after a period of sleep,he took my pulse and said,"I don't think it's anything to overly worry about, may be that it's just some muscle spasm, but it isn't your heart",then he gave me a new prescription and said,"see you in a month",easy as pie, thank you doc. Oh,before I forget,Tina did say that if I hadn't heard anything from the disability people by her next visit she would call them on my behalf, just to see what stage my application was at,I asked her if she thought my application would be successful, her answer,"without a doubt",that made me feel a whole lot better about things,it's just a matter of time now,and that is a commodity we are fast running out of as regards our various creditors who are running out of patience,I don't blame them,I would be the same in their shoes,so the quicker we get the voluntary debt relief order in place the better, again, time is our enemy,we can only pray that it happens quickly. Still no news of my wheelchair or a start date for pulmonary rehab classes, apart from that,I think that is all my news for now,so,until next time journal, may God continue to provide for us in His own way and according to His will,we trust you Lord, may Your peace and contentment fill our hearts and our home this day.

It sounds like Tina at least asked the right questions and was receptive to your wife\'s and your input. People who are super bubbly tire me out also. Hopefully they get this plan in place soon. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

WOW. Much on you plate. I pray that things work out for you.
Lord, here we are again, asking that you watch over this guy and his wife. Allow her to be more receptive to some help before she is the one who must be helped. Watch over both of them. We know you have plans for them. Allow them to be open to your voice and work on getting them the things they will need to make life a little easier.

Thank you in advance for what you are about to do.

We love you, Lord.

Amen
