Saturday afternoon...back to basics
I helped my Pop with a delivery he needed this morning. I got home,
ate lunch and then remembered I needed to get meds from the Pharmacy
and pick up food for Blue. I did both and then came home.
I called my Dad, as I hadn't heard from him for a bit, to see if he was alright.
He was, thank goodness.
Anyways, I started to sit in front of the television yet was struggling with some of the ideas
that my therapist left me with on Friday. I seem to build things up inside, mulling over and over
all the implications of what she might be wanting me to work on..what she might be meaning.
As tenuous and mentally feeble as I feel so much of the times, I feel as though I should be aspiring to
something more - and have wondered if that is what she is trying to get me to achieve or realize...
But then I thought again...GET BACK TO BASICS...I wondered what are the things that motivate me -
that motivate any of us??? What are the things we need???
Am I taking care of those basic wants and needs? Not thinking in terms of entertainments....
The concepts are really basic, and definitely bring me down to earth and I realize I am doing alright.
Food's in the fridge, chores are done - just ate lunch and now watching tely.
Though I think I'd rather make my own plan rather than have the tely make it for me, that's something
else for the future for me to negotiate...I definitely know once the pandemic is over I'll go back to the
Mountains Restoration Trust.
Anyways, so I am here...back to basics... no need to go high concept or wonder if I should be living in a different
way.
I hope all is well with you guys.
Sending peace and good vibes for a pleasant Saturday.

Here's to a good day!
That drive to complicate life is pretty compulsive for me. The K.I.S.S. K.I.S.S. mantra might be the most sanity saving tool in my psychotherapy toolbox. When I "go high concept" on myself, reminding myself to "Keep It Simple, Shithead" helps me keep from high concepting myself to the Outer Limits. There is much to be said for sticking to the basics, one itsy bitsy baby step at a time.
thanks you guys! have a beautiful day out there!
