Same old song, different verse.....

My son is on a bus, traveling 1800 miles to come and visit me, haven't seen him in a year. Am looking forward to this visit, he always is a joy, he is the comedian of the family and always makes me laugh. However, this can't be a joyous visit because there is always someone who has to put a damper on everything.  Two female members of the family have decided to start world war 3 and now everyone is either arguing or not speaking and they are all being really ridiculous and childish. I can't stand all this idiocy anymore. They are all driving me crazy. I have been hanging on to my sanity by a thread the past couple of years and now i feel like I am really going to go over the edge if I don't get away from these people. And the saddest thing of all is that I am referring to my own family as "these people". Dear God, send me a miracle, please?  I haven't been able to get on here in a while because some people are resentful of me using the computer, but I have decided I don't care, I will use it anyway, I need friends to talk to, to help me thru this. Maybe someone will give me an idea or suggestion that can help me. I want to change my circumstances as soon as possible, I deserve to be happy and safe and healthy and in control of my life. And today is just the beginning of change.

Let me put this into perspective for you...My whole family has passed away except for my son and me.I had alot of contention with my in-laws to the point I called them my out laws and my mother wasnt the easiest person to get along with HOWEVER my worst days with them was cake compared to grieving for them all.All families bicker, and we did our share but I\'d give anything to have them all back as the things we argued over seem so trivial now.Maybe when your son gets there with his sense of humour he\'ll lighten up the atmosphere a bit.I dont know the circumstances you are dealing with and maybe a change is in order.Only you can decide that.Dont let the bickering ruin your visit with your son, focus on enjoying him and let the others fight amongst themselves.By the way my husband was born in 1952.so 1952 sticking out at me Kind of like a sign i was meant to read your journal and respond.Did I help at all?.

yes, you did help! Thank you, I needed a voice of reason in my ear, sometimes we know these things but we need to hear them out loud from someone else. I will follow your advise and concentrate on doing what I know is the right thing to do, and that is to enjoy having my son here for a visit. His company is the medicine I need.
