Well, today was kind of an eye-opener for me. I bought a few plants at loaves and planted them by my apartment by my door and I only it's been less than a week and they all died today. It was too hot for them to handle. I was kind of disappointed in myself, but I know that kind of killed them. I'm putting on a second round of flowers and stuff so I need suggestions a friend told me to plant more indoor plants or desert plants because I do live in Arizona, but this made my heart sad but all sleep it off and feel better in the morning.

Arizona gets extremely hot.
You need plants that can tolerate the heat.
Maybe ask at the store you go to that you buy your plants what they would recommend. I know cactus do well.

Sometimes, the plants are not healthy when we purchase them. Yes, they can look healthy. Here's to having them for a week.
Water the soil before you plant the plants and water the plants very well the day before. You want to start out with the plants not stressing and dying. So they have plenty of water in their roots and leaves. After you plant the plants water well again.
The pot must have a drainage hole or the roots drown. Check and make sure your pots have drainage holes on the bottom. Water the new plants every day or two until you see they are growing. Don't over water and drown them but also do not let them get dry until they start doing better.
To plant them, carefully remove from the little plastic pot it comes in. Use good potting soil from a bad in the larger pot. Shake out all the old soil, remove it with your fingers. Gently open up the pot bound roots going around and around. Gently place into a hole dug out of the new pot soil. Then smoosh the soil over the roots with your hands, gently, to cover the roots back up. Do not plant too deep or it kills the plant.
I am trying Lantana this year and some kind of GMO impatiens called sunpatiens. All are growing as of now. I've kept them wet the first week and we had rain. All plants need some direct sun, at least 4-6 hours per day. If these are in total shade at your door, they won't grow. They need some sun. I have a very shady backyard in some spots and I planted hosta plants to hopefully get some of the bare soil covered. They died back last year when it got dry dry drought time and hot. But they came back up in March. So I added a few more to that area and will just see.
Nothing grows in that shady, dry, bad soil area. Vincas tolerate the heat and begonias will tolerate the heat somewhat. I typically plant vincas and begonias but the begonias only get morning sun. Even vincas need to be kept sort of moist when it is hot and dry, nothing except cactus or succulents can survive little water. I have concrete pot with no holes that the former owners left. It is too heavy to move and nothing grows in it. Too hot and no holes for drainage. So I put in fake plants. Good luck and let us know what you do try next and how it works.
Yeah, I’m gonna have to do things differently for my second round. I definitely learned that plants need sun, but they need not too much. Soil was not healthy, so I’ll have to provide more healthy soil of my own
