Rite of Sending & Election
Well, in following everyone's advice, I have continued with my RCIA classes and conversion into the Catholic Church. I'm very happy that I chose to stick with it.
Yesterday, we had the Rite of Sending ceremony at our home Parish, and the Rite of Election at the Cathedral. That was the first I had ever been in a Cathedral. From the way the teachers talked about it, I thought it was going to be a very intimidating experience. I'm glad to say that I've never felt more at home, which is ironic since there was so many people there.
On the way home after the last ceremony, I felt so relieved. I had started the day angry and frustrated that my husband was taking FOREVER to get ready to go, despite me telling nearly everyday for the last month about the itinerary for the day. But, it all turned out very well in the end.
And what made the day so much better was that my children (who are 2 1/2 years and 15 months old) were very well behaved. My son cried a couple of times while we are the Cathedral, but he was exhausted from the day.
