right foot yellow......
mia has had the run of the house for several days now........she hasn't wasted any time exploring and having fun! she's a fun happy little thing....racing and chasing and feeling gooooood! rio and mia have moments where they play together and then rio reminds her who is boss with a bit of a hiss here and there.
but they are doing really well.......so what happened this morning?
well i woke up all wonky and proceeded to take on chores. it was all coming along semi not bad when i managed to drop a small container of bright lemon yellow paint all over the kitchen tiled floor............oh my lanta........paint is thick so the spatter wasn't too bad, but i managed to find paint in some surprising places.......including my right foot all ready to play twister as it is bright yellow too!
after writing this i'll hit the showers......i see paint on my nails, my other hand........ah jeez, until i take that shower i could go on tour as a jackson pollock human painting.........it's almost becoming funny! almost......trying hard to turn it around, she said two sponges, two soap filled brillo pads and two rolls of paper towels later.......that's way too much bending for the A.M.
i managed to save enough of the paint to finish the mirror project. each swirly flowery area now has several layers of paint adorning it......i will have to pray hard over the next part.....when i come back in with the other colors to feather it on and make it look like it was done by an actual artist. right now it looks sloppy with good intentions, but not purty enough to display.
you're probably wondering if i'll ever finish this mirror, believe me you i've wondered the exact same thing! the other project i want to tackle next? drag the padded bench downstairs, measure it for fabric and head over to Joanne's Fabric Store......then take the bench and fabric to Tammy to recover. Also need to get paint for the bench legs......trying to decide between pale blue legs or maybe gold? hmmmmmm.......not sure, i favor creamy solid colors in the living room, so we'll see.
the kitties are flying through the house.....i need to get this scratching deal set up for little miss baby claws. it's rectangular shaped, sits on the floor, has a packet of catnip.......maybe i should sit it in a box? hmmmmm.......in the meanwhile i ordered a convertible cardigan on close out from belk's but can't figure out what configurations it makes exactly, they don't share that info on line. it's a sheer white knee length sweater.....which should be perfect over summer dresses. i cand find hip length examples on google but nothing for knee length.....
the other thing? my couch was looking more shabby than chic, so i started looking at sofas......then i decided to explore the world of sofa covers. i found one online marked down to 50% off, so it ran me right at $40.00 all in.....it's a plush deep red velvety fabric. it fits surprisingly well......i was pleasantly surprised by how easily it went on......but i did need to get some of those upholstery pins, they run about $4 a pack for ten at Joanne's........i got four packs cause i am clueless, i will be returning two packs, twenty pins was plenty to keep things in place with some left over. these little pins have pretty little clear plastic buttons attached to a swirly little corkscrew pin.....you just push the pin through the edge of the slipcover and then gently screw it into the existing couch fabric and voila'.....pretty and pleasing to the eye!
i need a shower, meds, breakfast........and hopefully i can get out of the house for awhile today. that would be awfully nice!
hugs, hugs and more hugs, ruthie

We used sofa covers to hide our couches until the base gave out. As long as the couch still has "good bones" it works out well. I'm glad Mia is fining her place. It must be so fun to have a kitten. Love you.
Darling little Mia. ...she sounds happy. I love red couches, I used to have one a while back. Tired out..short comment but sending my love dear Ruthie xoxo
