Results =surgery?

It's been so cold here this past week and the last 4 straight days we've had incredible wind constantly. It's had me in terrible pain. My left hip was so bad all weekend I just stayed on the couch. Had to use a cane just to get to the washroom. I felt so bad because my son just moved back home and bf had to look after everything from helping son unload his car (twice) to cooking all our meals and doing all the cleanup. Poor guy is burning out quick as he has chronic fatigue and can't handle so much. Son will be helping but you know how it is, especially with boys I find, the first few days you treat them like a guest. Girls will automatically pitch in, guess it goes to show I missed something with my boys (I blame their father for not showing the right example)

But moving on. I saw my doctor today and got the results of my CT spect bone scan  Severe stenosis in a couple places where the lumbar and sacral spine meet up. Also further signs of continued degeneration in facets and SI joints. She has sent off a request for an MRI to get a better picture as well as a referral to a spinal surgeon as she is recommending surgery now. There was more in the results but that's what stuck with me. I talked to her about my hips too so she has ordered xray to check them out. I would have thought they'd show up on the MRI but what do I know. If my hips look ok on xray (nothing surgical required) she'll do steroid injections. I haven't tried them in about 7 years so maybe it will work better this time.

I'll be missing out on my crokinole day tomorrow but just too much pain these days. It's not worth it. I want to save my 'spoons' for the baby shower this Sunday for my niece and her new baby girl. She is such a little doll!

I just read your post here. Ugh test, mri, ct, and emg, been there done that. If they decide to do surgery like me all anyone can do is hope the pain reduces. Like you pain was a friend I wanted to loose lol. Now a days it is better, and like you I’m on disability. I’m glad your bf wants to spoil you. You will want to talk to him about what I’ve told you in my PM. Hopefully he maybe able to help the first several weeks. Eventually you will need less care, also look into a caregiver. Dshs can help with that. Since I and my fiancé aren’t married she can get paid as mine. We’re just going threw the process. It may not be a lot but helps the other person dollar wise, and you to know you have extra help.
