Restless Weight
So this week has been really difficult. I'm getting really fed up of being in the apartment constantly, and I'm just so restless. No matter what I do it keeps following me like a charging thunder cloud.
The weekends are okay, because my fiancée is off and we can be together properly. Don't get me wrong, it's still difficult, but it's easier than just amusing myself for hours on end.
I became so accustomed to teaching in the classroom, even though it frightened me so much - but I burned off so much of my restless anxiety doing that. I'm finished with my work usually by 12, and just wait to see if any kids might email me needing help.. but mostly I'm just doing my own thing.
I have so many things on the go at the moment and activities that I do during the day, I just don't feel like any of them really make it go away. But then that's the truth I must acknowledge, it won't go away. It's here to stay. The same way it has been for the past eight years.
Living with a constant weight on your chest is exhausting.

Yes this staying home does get old. I'm just trying to keep busy. I have a dog that I walk and we got out in the yard. I like to garden. So I have been busy doing that. I also do a couple of online classes that keep me busy. And I just started to make a rug. I haven't made a rug in probably 4o years. Lol That's great! You are engaged? Yes my husband is off too on the weekends. What grade do you teach? Teaching is such a rewarding job. Good for you.
No unfortunately it doesn't go away. My doctor told me that. Mine has been going on for so long, that I don't even think about it anymore. It's kinda like my family doesn't even exsist. I know we will never talk again. My dad died 6 years ago and nobody told me. I found out on my own. It will get better and easier for you when you get married and have your own kids. That will be your family. And try not to let it bother you. I know when I was your age it was tough not having any of my family in my life. It's been about 35 years now that this has been going on. Time heals all. Stay busy and thanks for talking with me. Don't carry the burden of your family. Let them. It's their problem not yours. My doctor also told me that. Have a good day. It's been really warm here these last few days. Italianmomma
Sounds like you’ve got lots to keep you entertained!
I teach year 7-11 (I live in the UK]
I’m so sorry to hear about that, you’ve been so brave. I hope I follow a similar path.
Teaching is great! So you have lots of kids around. I live in California.
Yes it's been a long road for me, but I just keep going on. And you will too.
Do you talk with your family?
When are you getting married?
I have to tell you the happiest times in my life was getting married and having my son.
And they will be for you too. You will put all this family stuff behind you. And start a new life with your hubby and kids when you decide to have them. It's the best feeling ever to be a wife and mom. I'm excited for you. Have a great weekend. My hubby just bought me home some beautiful roses so I'm gonna go put them in a vase. And then we're gonna go take our dog out. Well enjoy the day!!!
I do talk with my family, yes, definitely some members more than others.
I was supposed to get married in August but sadly it’s been postponed to next year..
That’s wonderful! Have a lovely weekend!
That's good that you still communicate with family. It just sounds like you had a tough up bringing. My upbringing was o.k, Never really had too many problems with family. Until I got in my twenties then the problem began. That's too bad about your wedding. But next year will come soon. And it too will be the happiest day for you. Well have a great Sunday! Italianmomma
Hi! How's everything going? How have you been? And how's family life been treating you? This virus really is getting bad. I sure hope they find a cure for it soon, Keep in touch. Italianmomma
Hi! I’ve been struggling. How about you? Just miss teaching and just ordinary life in general. Things are returning to normal a bit more here in the UK, just very slowly!
Doing good under the circumstances. What's got you struggling? Did you read my post? That might help you. Leave a comment if you want. If it helps.
Just lockdown I think and the lack of normal day to day interactions. Which post was this? Thank you, you’re very kind.
Ah I see it. I will give it a read through!
Yes I agree the lockdown I think has taken a toll on everyone. It will be nice to get back to normal life. No masks and just being around people. Thanks for sharing. For now do the best you can and enjoy everyday you can. Praying things will get better very soon. Take good care, Italianmomma
You too. Have a lovely weekend!
Thanks you too.
