reminding myself of realities

I live alone, and I have to say though I get lonely sometimes, I am growing more and more

towards appreciating it and liking it.

The realities I am reminding me of is that all of us to a certain point have people or a person in our lives

who vexes us. We have to deal with them and it's an uncomfortable but maybe an athletic

state of mind of just having to deal with both sides of that person - one side can be nice

and generous and the other side...phew!

I found myself twisting a perverted shade of bruise blue green and purple in my mind this

morning while at work about it. I feel like I must be a bad person or perhaps to just

accept all sides to me as well (while keeping a healthy perspective.)

I can't wait to talk to my therapist as now in the present and because of interactions these, I fear the way I react

sometimes is overheated and I know I can benefit from a lense of looking at certain relationships

with calm generous eyes. Good thing I have therapy soon. I know from reading each others' posts

and journals about how relationships can really bog us down. Knowing I'm in good company

kind of helps - and keeps me from giving this vexing relationship too much power.

It's almost just confusing and not so angry making - but I suppose it's an all sides kind of

provoking thought bubble.

I get what you are saying...big time. quite frankly after living most of my life alone, from 25 to 43 when I had John, then not even dating anyone for 20 years, I'm not in a rush to have someone with me 24/7. Right now, I'm working to get John out on his own...and I'll be alone again...I'm looking forward to that freedom....on the other side of the coin, I'll miss the sillies we share daily.

One thing that I try to keep in mind when I come across those 'vexing' people is that 'they have a story too....Which Has Nothing To Do With Me: Bad temper/behavior". whatever...it's my 'choice' to allow that negativity 'IN" to hurt me or let is slide like Teflon off my shoulders...not my business/not my problem.

I also learn Very Valuable lessons from them, of how I Don't Want To Be, Behave, Boundaries, Negativity...so they can be valuable to teach me what I Don't Want in my life and Feel Gratitude for what I Do Have In My Life, along with the 'choice' of who I let in or don't let in..

I seem to get perturbed by the conflict involving several people rather than just a one person. Sure, there’s always an instigator but I guess I feel most helpless when the overall culture of my environment is something I feel I can’t improve. I end up using therapy to vent- and I wish I could just let it fly and not get so upset by it.

Happy Friday, Mark! Also, you don’t live alone. You have your roomie Blue.
