Remembring & honering NMy mus day
Hi all . Beter late than never some times. On the 11 of may . (Yesterday) Was my mums birthday. She would have been 88 years old. Some of what I know of her is that as a child up to the age of 9 she had to walk with the aid of of calipers. They said she would never walk. From the age of 9 she was determan to prove them wrong. & she did. She went for lesons & training to become an opra singer. One night at a garden party she sang for a young boy who was seriously ill did not have long to live. It was a damp fogy night & my late gran warned my mum & kept trying to get her to get in the house. The Next day my mums through was like on fire. She was told ater by her GP that she had torne her vocal cord & would never be able to sing like she used to again. Where one door closes another opens & God gave her the gift of being able to write poems. She did some for Peoples Friend magazine. NMy mum was pregnant & my gran threw her out for looking her singing voice. Later on my mum was un knowingly a caryer to a contagouse germ . Ever one she came in contact with ended up un well but she felt ok. The GP soon got something done about it. During the second world war my mum joined the WAFS the womens army. Later was discharged after having a break down seeing 3 of her mates sufercated under debry under ground. During her time in the army she met a canadian friend who she kept contact with ever sice until his death a few years on. her last husband before she met my dad caused her to have another breakdown. She was in hospital for 18 month. Onher last day she woke up to find another woman huging a broom stick wraped in a toowel saying this is my bayby do you like him. NMy mum screamed (Get me out of here. The doctor said you must never let any ony one or any thing cause you to return as you may not recover from a third break down. My mum made sure that no one did.. When she met my dad & later got maried he treated her as a person a to z . He worshiped the ground she walked on. I will maybe tell you more on her next birth day.
