remembering to be insightful
Blue has been crying a lot lately. I tried to calm him down with affection
at different times but in truth the affection didn't work. Frankly I did get
a little impatient but I didn't let it out - and thankfully I took pause
and tried to think 'why he might be crying.' I put myself in his kitty shoes
and thought - he must be bored. And so I started to take out his cat whip
and swished it around him and sure enough he was thrilled!
I am glad I can know what to do for him now - and I am grateful
something told me to think about him.

i remain amazed at how often seeking insights into the world around me balances my strictly personal aches and pains.
for what it's worth
i find the diffs between insights and knowledge to be a useful meditation. it be a meditation more than a questioning so a fixed answer is beside the point, but it has lead me to wonder if what i know blinds me to the insights at my feet. i can know all about cats without ever thinking about blue's cat whip.

I find with Bella I have to make little deals with her. She knows when I’m waking up and getting ready for an office day and brings me her toy while im getting ready to make sure I prioritize playtime before I go. And new to this routine, I have to give her five minutes outside on the balcony as I’m leaving, then she is ready for me to leave her for the day. She smarts-off meows to me when I tell her her five minutes are up and she has to get inside but reluctantly listens and jumps back in the door Mega personality!!! Blue likely has a personality to contend with too and you are being a good cat dad. Don’t worry.
I carry him outside, I have a harness for him but he doesn’t like it. Thanks Arfie! Thanks Nikki! You sound like a good cat mom too!!
