remembering my 'go to things'
I came home from work. Just kind of contented although very tired.
I got home, cuddled Blue and then ate lunch while watching some Rick Steve's
travel show. I fuddled around and then took a shower and dressed my best
and then decided to get myself a coffee. I'm going through a lot of potential change
right now and so I'm giving myself this extra treat.
Yesterday while at work, the stress was getting to me, strangely, and I had really
bad chest pains. My therapist said "Call your Primary Care Dr." I decided to just let it
pass. It never happened like that before and today when I went back to work I noticed
my heart was feeling intense again- but then I tried to be playful about work - rather than
be so serious about it - and eventually I felt better. Yesterday a coworker gave me a big
hug - and that calmed me down so nicely!
Yesterday I was lenient with myself as well to give myself good things and not deprieve
for the sake of a puritanical pragmatism.
I was going through some intense upset when she and I talked yesterday and she coached
me to try and find and make a list to remind myself of those things that "would calm me down'...
and so they're 'go to things' dangling in the air for me - I know a great thing I love to do is to
go for a walk or 'get little tasks' accomplished - those a great sense of well being for me.
Anyways, I've just gotten my 'to do' list done and so now I am trying to figure out what
are some go to things to bring calm to me as I have some time until my news show comes
on. Blue needs me, thank goodness!
