Releasing Smokey's ashes - afterwards was hard

The releasing of Smokey's ashes itself was okay.  It was the afterwards that was hard for me.  When I got home, it was like the unbearable pain of loss when Smokey first passed away.  It hit me one hundred percent hard and very painful.  We released the ashes almost six months after Smokey's passing away.  It did not realize it would be that hard.  I think it is the finality of Smokey's passing or the last straw.  Something like it but I am not very eloquint at this point.  The words are slipping away from me.

Good you did that, one more thing to check off the list. I spent the day at the Government offices, sending letters to cancel credit cards and bank accounts. I think I am pretty much done with that. The alarm company comes tomorrow to check things over, more for my peace of mind. Take care. Hugs, Wendy

I do understand what you\'re saying - it makes everything seem so much more real and permanent. I\'m glad that you got that done and some degree of closure when you look back on it.

Everything profound seems to trigger the pain of the loss again, everything. I wish you comfort as time goes on now.

I feel your pain and wish you all the best. Releasing Smokey\'s ashes was a final step for you and I\'m glad you were able to get through it. I hope you get some closure out of it and will be able to continue on. I know how sad you must feel, knowing the finality of it all. That\'s the way I felt when they lowered my Larry\'s body into the ground. It hurts so badly!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I pray for you to have peace and comfort...look to the Lord...He will help you.

I still have to do that with my husbands ashes, it is something I have to do but am trying to figure out the right time and place. It does seem more final when I think about it.
