Reflections

Here I sit, 2 hours away from a brand new year.  It's funny how much I've changed.  I remember a time when bringing in the New Year meant spending New Year's Day, pretty hung over!  It was nothing more that a party really.  As I've gown and matured I've realized something very profound for me.  I enjoy the quiet time leading up to the countdown. The reflection of the year since passed, continues to show me how I am never alone.  There are always obsticles and trials in life, but I look back and see God's hand in everything.  My faith has grown through surrender and obediance to God's Will in my life.  Not my will.  I've learned that my way offers only temporary fixes that always come back void.  As I look onto the new year ahead, I only speak my hearts desires to my Father.  No more pleas or bargaining strategies. only that He guide me to those desires...if that be His Will.  If not, than whatever He decides to give me or where He takes me, ALWAYS...far exceeds any expectations I may have had for myself.  So, to all my dear friends here at DS, I challenge you to do the same.  Right down your hearts desires for 2009, and at the stroke of midnight, a prayer will cry out for God to recognize each and everyone of them.  If you want to join me in this prayer for all, please do.  The peace I carry through all my trials, is not my own and is there for each of you if you just ask.   May you all find Christ in your hearts and know no matter what you are going through, God knows and knows a better way out of your hurt than you do!  I speak from experience and recall some pretty horrific things I've done and times in my life.  If any of you knew me before coming to this site...you'd never recognize me as the same person.  It's funny though...if I met you on the street, you wouldn't think 'Oh wow...she must be really religious'  On the contrary.  When I gave my life to Christ I asked Him..."NOW WHAT?"  and in the quietest voice and instantanious moment I heard..." Don't tell them ...Show them!"  So there you have it...me imperfections and all trying to live a life that makes my Father proud.  The best part of it all is I was so afraid it would change me and that freaked me out...but now, well, like I said...He knows me better than I know myself, so you could say, for the first time in my life I finally know who I am and I know my worth to God!  So to all who come across this journal, may your hearts be Forever changed as mine as been.  God bless and keep each one of you safe and may 2009 be the year you all recognize how much you matter to God and this world!
